I pastored First Baptist Church of Plainfield, IL in the late 1970s. It was founded in 1834. They had an interesting account in the church minutes about the Blackhawk War in the 1840s(??) with the entire city hiding in a log fort while he was in the area.
I was the 44th pastor and there have been several since then. It is still an ifb church fellowshipping with the GARBC.
Several churches in our state fellowship here in Wisconsin have been in existence over 100 years...East Delavan Baptist, Delavan; Section Eight Baptist, Pound.
