Our local church is new every year and is nearly a hundred years old.

But if you ignore the age of the members, our local church has been meeting together as an organized body for only about 70 years.

Hello everyone,
Just joined the boards but happy to contribute. My home church in South Wales dates back to 1660. It began meeting in a barn when there were only farms around. They built their first building in 1715. Coal was discovered around 1850 and a big town sprang up. Welsh revival in 1904-5 and they built a new building for 1600 people. The old chapel burned down in the 1940s, we demolished the huge building in the 1980s and rebuilt about ten years ago. The coal industry has gone but the church remains . . .npw with an American pastor seeing a good number of conversions.

What better place to fill up for the rest of the week?

My church (to which I've belonged for over 50 years) is Macedonia Baptist in Alexander, North Carolina (near Asheville). It was found in 1867. My father gave the land for the current church after the old one (across the road) burned on Christmas Eve in 1948; quite a shock for the young lad I was at the time. Below is a photo.

I am in the process of writing a history of my home church but, alas, not very good records were kept over the years.

Jesus along with 14 adults and I started our church in 1993. We will be 10 years old next year in October. The Lord has added to our church and we have grown to over 300.

Old Union Missionary Baptist Church was organized by John Hightower, Alexander Devin and Joseph Logan in 1795. These brothers were from Welsh Neck Church in South Carolina. Been doing business for the Lord for 207 years. We hope to be doing His business when He returns.
