How Trump Supporters View COVID Masks

It's a shame that in the middle of the worse pandemic in the United States since 1918 that wearing a mask has been politicized by supporters of both major political parties in this country. :(

Masks are more about your sneezes, coughs, and spittle not getting onto others to infect them. AFAIK they don't keep you from getting sick. That's what social distance is about.

Well, I view these masks, particularly the cloth ones, more like as a piece of cloth chocking me to death. My inability to breathe became worse and worse the longer I wore one, and I had to at the airport. I ended up taking it off every chance I got, they have NO medical exemptions available.

Everywhere else, I just ignored the posted warnings that a mask was required so the mask wouldn't suffocate me to death. Hand sanitizers and social distancing are fine. they work for everyone.

That's about how well Granny's quilt fabric on your face works.
Where is the SCIENCE on anything other than N-95, P-95, N-100, P-100? No SCIENCE exists on wearing your underwear over your face.
All I hear is "science". Well, show me the science.

There is "science" for masks and "science" against. Pick your poison

According to CNN, cloth bandannas hardly prevent germs getting on others when you cough or sneeze. Surgical masks do much better at controlling your germs getting on others. Only fitted N95 masks can keep you safe according to them. Otherwise, a mask is about your snot and spittle being kept off of others.

It’s not rocket science! Simply it’s putting a barrier between you and the source of infection.

How to Select, Wear, and Clean your Mask [link]

How to Wear
Wear a mask correctly and consistently for the best protection.
  • Be sure to wash your hands before putting on a mask
  • Do NOT touch the mask when wearing it
Those that work in the medical profession know that the time of greatest exposure occurs upon putting on and taking off the protective wear.

Constantly touching, adjusting and removing masks reduces their effectiveness and puts the wearer at a much higher risk of infection.

I still contend that all this hoopla re: masks, is NOTHING MORE than the left testing the water to see how far they can go W/O starting a rebellion in controlling your life! If they succeed here, look for more & drastic moves along the way.
Remember the queers/lesbians ONLY wanted "equal rights" to begin with, but look at their demands now!!!!!!:Mad:Mad:Mad
If the left is given power in Nov, the test phase will be over, & they will get real serious about CONTROL!
Keep this in mind if you haven't voted yet.:(:(

FIRST - I get sick and tired of constantaly being told to wash my hands -
WHY- because we should be doing that ANYWAYS!!!
How many times have you been at a restaurant - esp a buffet type - and you visit
the "reading room" see someone walk out without washing his hands? And I am
talking about way prior to the Chinese Virus.!

AS far as the current situation -
Granted that first month, we did a lockdown because of the unknown -OK, I understand.
But now,IMHO there are three main issues.
1) Too long to reopen -Here in NY movie theaters are still closed
(a local mall is suing the theaters for not paying rent - uhhh how can you pay rent when you cannot even open?)
So a theater has 100 seats - let them open with - say 25 in attendance - often there may be that few anyways.
2) Extreme regulations.again, here in NY (our Governor has been given, basically dictator powers)
I might understand that in NY City -you might need tighter regulations - but in most of Upstate - those tight regulations
are not needed - but it was months for many business to open.
3) Demands - In General people do not like being told what to do - and this thing about masks - there are so many
who have valid problems with mask wearing. I have had people complain about my "face covering" even though I
totally cover my pie hole and sneezer.
Granted, there many things we are told to do - but demanding for people to change overnight - is a bit too much.
A history teacher of mine once told us in class that sometimes it takes a hundred years for an ideal to catch one.
Look at seatbelts - why are laws getting stricter - because many people do not wear seatbelts - even though its been 60 years
since an emphasis was publicly made.
Now back to the masks - some States/Commonwealths such as NY, have went to the extreme - others have reasonable conditions.
Here is the policy in the State of Georgia: People are “strongly encouraged to wear face coverings as practicable” outside the home. Gov. Brian Kemp revised his Chinese virus health order Aug. 15 to allow local governments to impose limited mask mandates, as Atlanta and several other jurisdictions have sought to do, reversing a month-old ban on such local orders. Cities and counties that have 100 or more confirmed COVID-19 cases per 100,000 people can enforce mask requirements on public property. Many S/C do not require children to wear masks from ages 3-12. (CDC recommends children under 2 - NOT wear a mask)
Here is a link to the standards of each S/C for all standards.

Bottom line - when you push someone too far - they start pushing back.

My last two trips to WalMart they had no mask order sign, ever since the SC ruling, so even though Whitmer reinstated it through the Health Dept., WalMart isn’t saying anything. I was one of the few not wearing one both times, & just smiled the whole time. First time I’ve felt like smiling while in WalMart, heh.

Here in NY- in our county - if a store gets 3 complaints about people not wearing masks- the store is subject to a 300 dollar fine!

S, you're looking at it all wrong. You need to view it like those around you. The signs and instructions are not meant for you but for everyone else. :Wink
