So you agree that Christians are "village idiots".

Christians that expect the return of Christ are not deceived. People who deny it, are most certainly deceived. The god of this world has blinded them.

I am alatide and I totally agree with what this man is saying. The Christian Right is really no longer Christian at all. It's a cult political group focussed at getting converts to its particular non-Christian set of beliefs. They correspond closely to the Pharisees in the Bible in that they are legalistic about obeying God's laws but they demonstrate none of the love or compassion that Jesus taught. Strangely, they consider themselves to be extremely patriotic but fundamentally do not agree with such American freedoms as freedom of speech and the right to a trial by jury.

They focus on sins "those other people committ" like abortion but fail to recognize their own desperately sinful way of life. I the book unChristian, the writer from the Christian research group Barma looks at the attitudes of the unchurched from teen agers threough about age 40. It's an excellent book. I'm currently about 1/3 of the way through it. One discovery that he made was that 50% of the unchurched think that the term evangelical Christian refers to Christians who are extremely involved in politics. They believe that most Christians are hypocrites and are only interested in "saving them" not offering them love or compassion or help when they need it.

The church is in a terrible condition today. It's become more like a country club thanan authentic bgody of believers. Many Christians believe that how you live your life doesn't matter as long as you're one of the elect or have accepted Christ at some point 40 years ago. Suprisingly, most of the unchurched have done that and now reject Christianity.

This is the stupidest paragraph you have ever posted. Let's not even mention the fact that you have been challenged a thousand times on your comparisons of consevatives & Pharisees, and you NEVER answer. But let me just say that using other people's gifts for your charity is niether love, nor compassion. And you should list these beliefs you think we are trying to convert people into believing. And it is the left that wants to shut down talk they don't like, and silence dissent. And the trial by jury thing is just ridiculous.

Free speech does not apply to private bulletin boards such as this.

In regards to the OP, though, it's important to remember one thing. Just because a person is a Christian and conservative, that doesn't automatically mean they're a member of the "Christian right". I'd venture to say that there are many here to are conservative and Christian, but not members of the Christian right.

There are a number of statements, like the quick, you lie, or you are a liar, etc. that I think should be edited quickly ... and people warned about using impolite language.
