If you have proof that regeneration is not the same as salvation, why would you not share it with a brother?

Because, Amy, winman doesn't consider a Calvinist or a DoG a brother in Christ. He has had posts where he insinuated such. Also, winman will twist words and take scripture waaaay out of context just so he can prove that Calvinists and DoG's are the scum of the Christian world, stupid, arrogant, ignorant, villains to the word of God.

Vampires that walk among the living, who need a stake in the heart in order for them never to rise again.

Again, a lame excuse. Amy is the one who asked, she has not offended you, why can't you answer her?

And it is the height of hypocrisy to claim I twist scripture. Show where I have twisted scripture.

All in due time, van helsing, all in due time.
for now I shall rest in my coffin and rise again at sundown.

(umm, where did I leave those fangs ?).

What does that have to do with this thread?

Faith precedes regeneration (new birth) as scripture clearly teaches.

It has EVERYTHING to do with the topic of:

Faith precedes regeneration

or

Regeneration precedes faith

or

effectual call precedes gospel call

or

life precedes belief

or

regeneration precedes redemption

or

redemption precedes regeneration

or

Eternal Salvation precedes Gospel Salvation (as most common Old Baptists refer to it)

or

however you wish to define it.

The fact that you even make a distinction between faith and regeneration belies your consternation at a differentiation between eternal life and salvation.

Thank you. You effectively articulated my opinion towards Winman.

Point me to any single verse which states that faith precedes regeneration, if you believe such a verse exists.

Did I say a single verse states this?

Tit*3:5 Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost;

Regeneration:
paliggenesia paliggenesia pal-ing-ghen-es-ee'-ah
from 3825 and 1078; (spiritual) rebirth (the state or the act), i.e. (figuratively) spiritual renovation; specially, Messianic restoration:--regeneration.

Joh*3:3 Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.

Born:
gennaw gennao ghen-nah'-o
from a variation of 1085; to procreate (properly, of the father, but by extension of the mother); figuratively, to regenerate:--bear, beget, be born, bring forth, conceive, be delivered of, gender, make, spring.

Here we see that being born again and regenerate are synonymous.

How does one receive the new birth (being born again)?

Joh*3:14 And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up:
Joh*3:15 That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life.

Sorry, But, not a single one of those verses you posted shows that faith precedes regeneration.

Another Calvinists looses his cool. If you were as confident with you beliefs as you appear to be you would be glad to explain them.

You made the outrageous claim, you have been called on it, now prove your point!

See post #51.

Actually, the OP is what's outrageous here. I'm still mulling it over.

Proof for what?

Consider this post as proof that gospel salvation is something other than eternal salvation:

http://www.baptistboard.com/showthread.php?p=1520223#post1520223

This is completely absurd. In fact there are no words to accurately describe it. It shows a complete incompetence in scripture and a deeply seated ignorance.

Salvation is not a process and no scripture indicates anything of the sort. But our salvation is a future event that has been secured by Christ( 1 Peter 1 :3-5). Your personal interpretation leads to a life time of earning salvation. Our redemption has been secure so in that we are saved. But our redemption has not been realized as we wait for Christs return ( Romans 8:18-25).

In fact what you espouse is complete heresy and by that I mean it in its strongest form.
