So are you saying the bodily ressurrection is irrational? ". . . delivered for our offences, and was raised again for our justification. . . ." -- Romans 4:25. ". . . Come now, and let us reason together, saith the LORD: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool. . . ." -- Isaiah 1:18.
If God cannot create a rock so big he cannot lift it, how could he create a universe he cannot control?
Free will advocates seem to think so.I don't know. Did he do that?
Where does God ask you to believe? If God chooses, why does He ask me to believe?
The obvious answer is that because He chose us His choosing does not make believe.

So am I to understand, according to your argumentation, God for no reason raised His Son from the dead? Romans 1:4, ". . . And declared to be the Son of God with power, according to the spirit of holiness, by the resurrection from the dead: . . ."Yes, I am saying the bodily resurrection of Christ is irrational based on the following definition:
the definition of irrational
irrational
1. without the faculty of reason; deprived of reason.
2. without or deprived of normal mental clarity or sound judgment.
3. not in accordance with reason; utterly illogical:irrational arguments.
It does not. follow, if I am chosen why should I need to believe,If God chooses, why does He ask me to believe?
The obvious answer is that because He chose us His choosing does not make believe.

Being Chosen for Salvation does not save you. IMO election is not Salvation nor is it a guarantee for Salvation. If it were the Jews would have never rejected Christ as there messiah because they would have been saved instead. It does not. follow, if I am chosen why should I need to believe,

You can refuse till the cows come home. You can make up all kinds of excuses to avoid the truth. Yet it is still Christ asking those He is speaking to, to believe in Him.= Instruction for believers.
They already believe or they would not be listening to him. He is speaking to born again people (already saved) encouraging their faith. You can refuse till the cows come home. You can make up all kinds of excuses to avoid the truth. Yet it is still Christ asking those He is speaking to, to believe in Him.

The truth of this verse is in the Greek. The word Belief comes before the word appointed. IOW your hope is based on a mistake in translation. No difference.
“And when the Gentiles heard this, they were glad, and glorified the word of the Lord: and as many as were ordained to eternal life believed.” (Acts 13:48)
