If we were still under the law...

I guess I would. Can't think of a reason I wouldn't.
So, you would slit the throat of some innocent animal every year to supposedly atone for your sins. I wouldn't. And I don't believe God would require it. I don't believe He required it under the Old Covenant, either.

I believe He did require it. You eat meat?

Jeremiah 7:22 --- “For I did not speak to your fathers, or command them in the day that I brought them out of the land of Egypt, concerning burnt offerings and sacrifices." (NASB)

I'm a pescetarian.
So you kill fish

Fellas, aren’t you going into the weeds with this conversation?

no, but I eat them. but I get your point
My mother’s family on her mom’s side had small grocery stores in small communities. So they had to provide food which is meat so they kept sheep, cattle and chickens… all for meat to sustain for people in the community & and that required them to kill their animals. My uncles were not slaughtering to sacrifice to G-D but to keep their communities people healthy & working ( mostly in the coal mines). If you see this in the lens of feeding the population to keep them in mines to produce coal to build America well where is the sacrifice?

We're all in the weeds and some of us are trying to get out.
That’s quite a healthy ambition… proves you are open minded and a searcher for truth. Funny that it takes loss to have me open my eyes and learn things I myself were taught to avoid… made me rather close minded. I’m not doing that again.

Titus 3:9:
9 Avoid foolish questions, and genealogies, and contentions, and strivings about the Law; for they are unprofitable and vain.

Matthew 11:12-14
12 From the days of John the Baptist until now the kingdom of heaven(heaven? Ephesians 1:3-10, and so on) suffereth violence, and the violent take it by force.
13 For all the Prophets and the Law prophesied until John.
14 And if ye will receive it, this is Elias, which was for to come.
(Believe it or not, this is the message.) -> 15 He that hath ears to hear, let him hear.

Hebrews 8:13->
In that He saith, A new covenant, He hath made the first old. Now that which decayeth and waxeth OLD is ready to vanish away. ->(2Peter 3:7 -> But the heavens and the earth, which are now(the 1st and 2nd heavenly places, the OLD TESTAMENT and the NEW TESTAMENT, BOTH...), by the same Word are kept in store, reserved unto FIRE(the 3rd heavenly place will be established from now on) against the Day of Judgment(this Day arrived, the seventh and last Day or seventh and last millennium) and perdition of ungodly men.

Yeah, "Avoid foolish questions, and genealogies, and contentions, and strivings about the Law; for they are unprofitable and vain".

2Timothy 2:23-24:-> 23
But foolish and unlearned questions AVOID, knowing that they do gender strifes. 24 - And the servant of the Lord must not strive; ...

1 Timothy 1:3 & 6:
3 As I besought thee to abide still at Ephesus, when I went into Macedonia, that thou mightest charge some that they TEACH no other DOCTRINE,
6 From which some having swerved have turned aside unto VAIN jangling;

1Timothy 4:1-2:

4 Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall DEPART from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and DOCTRINES of DEVILS;
2 Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron;

2Corinthians 2:11 ->(combined with Genesis 3:1-11)- ...for we are not ignorant of his devices.

Ephesians 6:10-17:
11 Put on the whole armour of GOD, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the Devil.
12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.
13 Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of GOD, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.
14 Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness;
15 And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace;

16 Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.

17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the Sword of the Spirit, which is the word of GOD:

10 Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of His might.

Titus 3:8 - This is a faithful saying, and these things I will that thou affirm constantly, that they which have believed in God might be careful to maintain good works. These things are good and profitable unto men.

GOD BLESS
