If you could go back in time

If you could go back in time to spend a few days, where and when would you go?
I have thought I would like to go to the pre-civil war era (not that I am for slavery or anyhting). It's just that I have always been interested in the deep south and those big plantations.
Thought this would be an interesting topic.
In Christ,
Susan

P.S. This topic may have been posted before. If it has, I apologize.

Early 40's Key West or late forties through '60 West Texas or So. Cal.

I've always been fascinated by the stories old people around here tell me about Philly in the old days, so I'd like to be here in the 50's.

I wouldn't mind being in Montana in 1883 so I could laugh at the people on that TV show.

I would like to go back to Biblical times and hear Jesus preach. I can onley imagine the expression he must have put into his messages as he preached. I would have heard his sermon first hand when he preached to the pharasees. {"O ye generation of vipers..."}
I would liked to have seen people get saved after He had preached or told a parable.
I wish I could have been there the morning He arose from the grave.
This is where I would go, If I could go back in time.
your sister in our Savior,
Abby

Intrigued by many eras of history, but would love to have been at Agincourt (AD 1415) with Henry V at the most strategic battle in English history.

Or on top of Masada (AD 72) the night before the Roman ramp was completed.

And one more? A no brainer. Staff officer with Stonewall Jackson Brigade. Hey, my parents didn't name their first-born son Robert E. Lee Griffin by accident!

If I could go back any time I would believe it would be Dec 31, 1990. I would like to slap some sense in the blonde chick that left Bible College and forsaked God for so many years! That is where I would go if I had the choice. :(

That Pioneer Life tv show was absolutely pathetic! (I wouldn't mind being a pioneer myself,) but the innocent 50's is the time-frame for me...wish we had hung onto our '57 Chevy!

 I don't think that would be such a good idea. That was also the night before everyone on top of Masada bit the big one.

I think I would love to go back to 19th century England. I've always been a fan of H.G. Wells, so, for me, Victorian England and time travel go hand in hand. ;)

This is a really fun thread. I have often thought that there were other eras that I would have been happier in, but if I had lived much farther back in time, I might well have died at 14 yrs of age. My appendix went south on me when I was that age, and it had to be removed. It was no big deal in 1968, but if it had been 1868, it would have been a different story.

If I could be transported as I am now to a different time, I think it would be fun to go back about 40 years, then go to my parents house, knock on the door and just ask directions for some place. If I were to see my young self there with them, I could say "That certainly is an ugly youngun y'all have there. Which of you does he take after?"

If I could go back in time to any time and place of my chosing would make for some tough choices... sooo many times and places I would love to "visit".

Right at this very moment I would have to say I would most like to go back in "time" and visit a somewhat unknown "place" called: "In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth. And the earth was without form, and void;..." and I would like to stay for a week if God would let me... just think of the wonders of witnessing that!!!

Then you ask could Eve, "Hey, are you sure you wouldn't rather have a nice juicy pear or something?" ;)

i think i will choose the time when the roman empire is conitnuously strategically conquering the world. but then i like to be on the side of the being conquered tribe (somebody please correct me if i'm wrong in assuming that they are called barbarians), where, if you are a male, you either join the fight or be killed by your own people otherwise.

well, am i not scared? of course i am. in fact that may be the scariest scene for me. that is why i chose it

I would like to go back during the Roman era and be a gladiator. Of course, I would bring as a weapon, not a sword, but an Uzi, a Beretta, a shotgun, and tons of ammunition.

I would go back to when Jesus Christ was in his ministry. I'd ask him to heal me of Aspgers Autism and Cornealia De Lange Syndrome. Then I'd be "normal." I'd also like to have a private conversation with him. That's where I would go.
