Sounds like you have a problem with the GOP over that.

No, not really. It would have caused them all kinds of problems - they took the smarter way. I mean really, we all know the Bamster was color protected and nothing untoward was going to happen to him no matter how much he violated the constitution.

I’m not. I do not expect the Republican Senators to place country over party.

So, you seem to have no problem with the Democrats complete violation of President Trumps civil rights, you know, those pesky things like him getting his due process rights, having counsel to represent him, and an open hearing in front of the American people. Talk about putting party over country and even the Constitution, the Democrats know how to do that in spades and are showing us right now.

A word of advice to you friend, you had better watch it with your support of these totalitarians as I am in the midst of reading a book about Stalin and his henchmen and at some point even those who felt most secure in their place within the party were eventually executed or sent into exile. If such things could happen to them, the likes of you wouldn't stand a chance.

The impeachment process is the equivalent of a grand jury. A grand jury hears from the prosecutor, not the alleged perpetrator. The Senate is where a trial takes place and is the equivalent of a courtroom with the prosecutor and the defendant and their respective representatives on public display.

This current process however completely disregards the precedent from the last 2 impeachments the country went through. They were bi-partisan from the very beginning with both political parties agreeing to certain rules and working together to make things fair, while this one however is completely one sided. The other impeachments were held in open session, (even the proceedings in the House) while this one of course is held in secret, behind closed doors and with only selected leaks coming from the party in control.

The whole thing is a travesty of justice, a one sided show trial, a continuation of the "get Trump" mentality by the Trump haters in the House. They won't even have a full vote of the House to get things going, so tell me how is that fair to the Americans who are represented by the Republican caucus? Everything should be aboveboard and bi-partisan and this is anything but.

Unfortunately, the bipartisanship of my youth and young adult years is long gone in this country. We are no longer in the 1960s or 1970s or 1980s. There are fewer centrists left in either major party and fewer centrists left among the electorate. And the country is very much worse off for it.
