There is a difference between saying that questioning the election results precipitated the riots and saying President Trump was responsible for the riots.
There are many things being ignored today.
From the DNC - The DNC has made statements like Trump's words. Clinton (and the DNC) claimed the election 4 years ago was stolen. Gore fought tooth and nail to have the election in which he ran overturned.
Regarding Trump - Trump never encouraged people to riot (he asked for the opposite). Trump never asked for violence. There was, in fact, no "insurrection".
That said, as a leader Trump does bear some responsibility for continuing the rhetoric. He did the same as others, but this time things had reached a boiling point.

Funny, I was watching the Battle of Britain the other day. The RAF in their Spitfire planes are my heroes. One of the interviewed pilots indicated he prayed while another guy stated matter of factly that he enjoyed the dogfights. I understand that guy and if I was there, would feel the same way.

Yeah but he did not name Trump specifically. He said the challenge and questioning of the election caused it. By your standard that means I also incited the riot....
