I have seen and read where there is a Baptist form of Covenant theology. It maintains Baptist distinctives, yet see's God as a Covenant making, and Covenant keeping God. I am not yet familiar with Millard Erickson. I will have to do a search on him. Thaks for the recommendation!

There are some large differences between Reformed Baptists and traditional reformed, as RB affirm Believers baptism, not infant, usually have different type of church government, subscribe to a different Confession of Faith, and tend to see the NC as being literally a Brand new One, while Reformed tend to see much more continuity. Also majority Reformed hold to A Mil, while many RB hold to some form of premil still, just not pretrib rapture
Erickson is the systematic theology used in many Baptist seminaries, including where I got my MA and where I now teach. The title is Christian Theology, 3rd ed., and is well worth the read, as are the other books of his I have.

Dr Erickson Systematic Theology is a standard text at many Baptist Seminaries, just remember that he is a "moderate" Calvinist while reading his very good book

The term "moderate Calvinist" means "inconsistent Calvinist". I like "confused Calvinist" because it has a better ring to it.
They are Calvinists who reject points of Calvinism (4 pointer, 3 pointer, 0 pointer).
IMHO Calvinism is an all or none theology.

Bart Ehrman has a PhD. He earned his Ph.D. degree in 1985 from Princeton Theological Seminary, where his dissertation was awarded magna cum laude...My point was not suggesting that you endorse him, but simply, having been awarded this as he was, does not guarantee fidelity to truth.
