In the Garden

Fact, you are not addressing reality, You do not even know when Christ made "His ascension." You cited no verse. OTOH, I cited Paradise being entered BEFORE more than 500 people say His ascend.

Paradise was moved to the third Heaven at His ascension per Ephesians 4:8, ". . . Wherefore he saith, When he ascended up on high, he led captivity captive, . . ."

It is your view which has no such teaching in Scriptures.

Believers, such as Abraham, went to Paradise. It was moved to the third Heaven.
Once again, fiction is asserted but no verse is cited.

Does any verse say Abraham's bosom is Paradise? Nope.

All these claims are man-made conjecture, but Paradise being the abode of God is straight out of the cited verses. See Post #1.

Yet another mindless taint so.
Now after citing the verse, he claims it does not exist. I kid you not...
What taint so? That Paradise was moved, Luke 23:43 to the third Heaven at His ascension per Ephesians 4:8. You have Scriptures for your view.

Do either of those verses say Paradise was moved? Nope so more obfuscation and no meat.

The OT saints were in Abraham's bosom, and were moved to the abode of God, after Christ died because they had to wait to be made perfect by the washing of regeneration. Since they were unholy sinners before being regenerated, they were NOT in the abode of God. Full stop

It didn't say it the way you want it. Abraham was in the upper place of Hades, Luke 16:23. Christ's soul was resurrected from Hades, Acts of the Apostles 2:31.

You cannot be reasoned with.

Where were the captives moved from to where? Ephesians 4:8. You are unable to comprehend that.

The issue is not whether captives were moved, the issue is scripture does not say nor suggest the name of Abraham's bosom was changed. YOU CANNOT BE REASONED WITH. YOU ARE UNABLE TO COMPREHEND. :)

Paradise indicates an enclosed place, such as a garden, or abode of God, with conditional entry.

2 Corinthians 12:2 indicates Paul was "caught up" into the "third Heaven." Then in 2 Corinthians 12:4, scripture indicates Paul was "caught up" into Paradise. Thus, both refer in this context to the same place.

In the common thinking of that day, the first "heaven" is our atmosphere, where clouds burst and birds fly. The second heaven is space, where the moon, the sun and the stars reside. And above the created "heavens" is the third heaven, the abode of God.

In Luke 23:43 we see the first entry of a sinner into "Paradise" referring I believe to the abode of God in heaven.
Thus on the day Christ died, the New Covenant in His blood was inaugurated, and the believing thief was made holy such that he could enter God's holy abode.

We come to the garden alone, we gain entry not because our parents were of the "right" blood line, or because others prayed for our salvation. When God credits our faith in Christ as righteousness, He transfers us individually out of the domain of darkness into the Kingdom of His beloved Son. (Colossians 1:13)

We come when the dew is still on the roses, early in our existence, avoiding the expanse of eternal punishment

The message we heard, providing our entry into the Garden was disclosed by the Son of God.

To be "in the Garden" is to be "in Christ" because He tells us we are His own.

And the joy we share, as we tarry there, none other has ever know.

Paradise was in the earth, the place of the righteous dead, until Christ died and He carried captivity captive and gave gifts to men. Paradise is in Heaven since then.

You can argue all you want, but the song is about a mystical experience (for lack of better terminkology) that the author had about Mary Magdalene visiting the tomb.

Not until Christ's ascension. A Biblical teaching you do not understand.
Where was the thief on the cross upon his death (the one Jesus said would be with Him that evening)?

(I'm trying to follow the conversation)

Yep. The author wrote it while reading the passage about Mary going to the garden and finding seeing a risen Jesus. She clung to Him but He had to go.

I didn't realize that for most of my life (not until reading what the author wrote about penning the lyrics). Made me appreciate the song (we sung it growing up, but it didn't click, I guess, at that time. Now it seems obvious).
