Really? Who did I allegedly attack? Personal requires a person.

You used the word Christians giving it a direction to people on this board. Specifically those who support the death penalty. Playing ignorant does not relieve you of the responsibility of your words.

YOU are wrong, as usual. I would never denegrate Christians...I am one. Perhaps I should have said certain Christians.

IF God licenced man to apply the death penalty in the OT, it was relegated to the state's responsibility in the NT, or Paul lied about it.

Cheers,

Jim

By the way, I seem to recall reading in the OT that if your children continue in disobedience you are to kill them. Done that lately?

Did someone advocate differently? The state does have the authority to apply the death sentence for just cause. To do that is not murder. The state does not have the authority to apply the death sentence to unborn children because there is no just cause for that. To do so is murder. To condone it is being an accomplice to murder. To support it or turn the other way is to fail in our duty to stand against what is clearly against God's laws.

Aren't these apples and oranges Mexdeaf? Does God ever command nations to execute individuals for criminal offences? Should we adopt the same capital punishment policy as Israel instituted under the law?

I still tend to support limited capital punishment, but have a lot of questions that I am working through.

I am still working on the response to this. I was in hospital yesterday, trying to get back up to speed.
