Neither source defines the area. A population of 15,000 in Jerusalem and an empty rural area would be consistent with what Mark Twain said about a barren land with no trees. Scripture says that Israel will only bloom for the Jews. Isaiah 35:1-2 and elsewhere.

The second one refers to the mandated territory of Palestine ie: modern Israel plus West Bank and Gaza

And it said 1900 and on. Innocents Abroad was published about 1869.

Not one country wants the people living in Gaza. The USA cannot afford to subsidize them anymore. Maybe Hamas should sell the land to Israel, divide the money up, and tell the Arabs there to leave and start over somewhere else in the Arab world.

I don't think that the Turks bothered to define that area, which was a wasteland. The Jews say that it was called Southern Syria.

The UK let many Arabs in in defiance of the League of Nations. The Jews had to drive the UK out with military force. Then the UK tried to take the Suez Canal by force.

Iran nuclear deal....

Getting back to the Iranian deal:

just imagine if Hillary Clinton had won the presidency:

There no doubt would be (or already been) a Lockheed C130 loaded with freshly printed funny money to Iran (several billion no doubt) to further the plan of the destruction of our ally Israel and the formal establishment of the World Wide Islamic Caliphate.

My opinion of course.

Who was the last president of the nation of palestine? Or the prime minister? Or dictator?

Oh, that's right! There wasn't one. Why? There is no nation called palestine and never has been.

There wasn't a Prime Minister or President of Israel during the period we're talking about either

Really?

We're talking about now. Or at the earliest when Israel won the 6 day war and took the lands you identify as palestine. They were definitely a nation then. Who was in charge of the nation of palestine then?

Oh, that's right, there is no nation of palestine and never has been.

Israel was a nation thousands of years ago, as well. Has there ever been a nation known as palestine?

No, we are talking about the 19th century - remember you mentioning Mark Twain (1835-1910)? If, however, you want to talk about now, then the Palestinian President is Mahmoud Abbas and the Prime Minister is Rami Hamdallah.

It all goes back to that war. People will never forgive Israel for winning, and will always say the spoils of that war were gained illegally.
