very left wing!
That political compass thing doesn't work well for Americans, it's designed for the EU. Obama is authoritarian-right on it, as is every other POTUS, Prime Minister, anyone in a leadership position. I scored in the libertarian-right but to the left of Milton Friedman, go figure. All these left-wing Americans brag about being in the lower-left corner but their leaders are authoritarian as well.

To the OP, fascism is right. Fascism is left. George Orwell said it earlier and said it a lot better:

George Orwell: What is Fascism?

Here a fascist, there a fascist, everywhere a fascist.

Fascism is of the Far Right. It favors Governmental totalitarian authority, inequality and strong nationalism.

The Far Left has embraced the methodology of Fascism without accepting the ideological goals. The Left has no complaint with being Anti-Democratic and Tyrannical (look at free speech on college campuses), but rather than looking to Government Totalitarian rule, it embraces "Mob Rule" to enforce its will. Like classical Fascists, the Left has no problems with unprincipled opportunism, happily exploiting any situation (like a school shooting) to its propaganda advantage. Any black man killed by any police officer must be "racism"; the fact that Blacks are 13% of the US population but commit 50% of all homicides cannot be a factor. Ideological Dishonesty is another tactic now embraced by the Left. A current example is the simultaneous complaints AGAINST Russian interference in US elections and the need to punish their enemies on the Right, while at the same time advocating that more illegal foreigners should be allowed to vote in US elections. Or the unacceptable tragedy of the death of even one school child, but the right of women to murder millions of unborn babies with Government funding.

So the modern Left has adopted the play book of the Far Right of WW2.
God help us all.

Depends on what sort of morals. On abortion they tend to be good, on helping the poor not so. A plague on both their houses
No. The left keep the poor in poverty. The right wants to teach the poor how to fish. The left wants to give them ground up scrap meat called fish nuggets to buy votes with.

You're trying to take away housing from those who need it, food from the hungry and medical care from the aged and sick. I don't call that moral in a Christian sense.
Inasmuch as YOU have done it to the least of these my brethren you have done it unto Me.
You enable poor behavior. Tough love is needed. More handouts simply keep more generations in poverty.

Socialism is from the left. The Nazi's from WW2 were from the left, they were national SOCIALISTS. The Soviets were also from the left, they were trans-national SOCIALISTS. The only difference between the two was in the economic sphere - the Nazi's still allowed private companies to operate businesses (at their behest however) while the Communists took over all the means of production. Both systems were police states with virtually no individual liberties for their citizens.

So the Christlichsoziale Partei in Austria 100 years ago, was that right or left wing because it had 'socialist' in its name?

Wrong: when we had a centre-left government here in the first decade of this century, the gap between rich and poor narrowed with the poor being given a hand up rather than just a hand out. Since 2010 we've had a right wing government and tjat gap has widened considerably

As on most socialistic programs. You narrowed the gap by bringing the top upper middle down.

Most people getting assistance from the government are either working or have a family member who is working. I've talked to professional people, ministers and vets who are on the street.

Inequality was very high in Dickens' England in the late 1800's. It improved in America with the rise of unions to fight the robber barons. It was elevated again in the 1920's and was thought to have been a major cause of the '29 crash. FDR pulled us out from the depression and then of course WW2 put a lot of men back to work. It also generated a huge debt which had to be repaid.

Here is the U.S. minimum wage in real (inflation adjusted) terms.
Real Min Wage History.jpg
As you can see it's now about where it was in 1950. So much for the lie about high minimum wages.
