I'm not the one who implied that Jesus didn't know how to present the gospel properly.
The conversation with Nicodemus was not just the verse we now know as John 3:16. Jesus started a tad earlier and went on a tad longer. Perhaps you should take up and read...
Gospel is not in verse 3 onward...I left nothing out. Verses 1 and 2 are one thought, verses 3 - 8 another, 9-11 another, etc.He is declaring to them the Gospel. Hilarious you leave that word out.
There is no faith mentioned in verses 3-8...how can it be the Gospel?Creed or not, it was and is the Gospel. If someone came to me to have me explain it, I would take them there, and tell them the same message those in Acts told others: that is that He died, was buried, and rose again. That there is good news. That is what they preached and what I preach.

The Gospel is the Death, Burial, Resurrection of Christ, whether we "receive" it or not. That is the Gospel period. Nothing else needs to be added to it.
It's still the Gospel without mans Response. Dying is in there twice. Where is the burial and Resurrection in that message? It is missing the elements that are its necessary components or it is not the Gospel at all. The according to the Scriptures refers to His Death, burial, and Resurrection Some also include and that he was "seen."
John 3:16 is not the Gospel. The attempt to make it such is mere sentimentalism and not at all theologically accurate.
I held a revival several months back, not one person could tell me what the Gospel was. It is plainly laid out in Scripture in 1 Corinthians 15.
It amazes me other baptists slam me for asking what it is when it is our privilege to know it, and speak it, and we should jump at any chance!
Any of us who got it wrong need to lose our pride and accept the fact we were wrong and learn what it is, and where it is.
What about the virgin birth?
Let this answer for you:
Did the Word say "...and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved."
or does it say: "...and shalt believe in thine heart he was born of a virgin, thou shalt be saved."
I'll let you determine which one is correct.
Only one contains the main part of the Gospel, and that is the one I will preach.
Thank you for allowing me some amount of free will.![]()
