Is it just my imagination, or are many folks here hostile to people who read the KJV?

I do find it quite odd that the most prolific starters of KJVO-related threads are not the KJVOs.
Depends on how you define "KJVO-related" and who is considered "KJVO". Below are the current 20 front page topics with originators: which of these are directly KJVO-related? who is explicitly KJVO?

Thermodynamics is self-described as KJVP, I believe; his topics seem mostly neutral. Baptist4life and Salamander are strongly KJVP. Ehud and KJVBibleThumper seem to be the closest to being strictly KJVO. The topics "Why the Need?", "Dead Horse Revived", "Vaticanus Again", and "Difficult Words" all were pretty clearly KJVO-related.

KeithM is not a KJVO; is his "Is God settled on one Bible translation?" necessarily a KJVO topic? Logos1560 is not KJVO but often examines the AV text (5 topics here); does that make his topics automatically KJVO-related? The topic of "Words omitted from the AV1611" concludes that the KJV text is unsettled among KJV publishers; is this then KJVO-related? puros_bran, Friend of God, and thegospelgeek seem to be also of the non-Onlyist persuasion.

Please don't close yet. I feel left out. I was KJVO at one time...during the days when we fought against modernism. We railed against te modernist RSV because it had "maiden" instead of "virgin" in Isaiah...........

I am only kjp now though, even if I read some 16 other versions, to correct my KJV, by hand.........

Ok...Now you can close it.

Cheers,

Jim

JUST AS THERE ARE non-KJVO people who do the same! Yet you refuse to admit it.

My point exactly - neither side has a monopoly on attacking the other. The extremists on both sides are quick on the attack.

BTW - yelling (all caps) on a discussion forum is usually considered rude. I hear just fine - no need to shout.

Ed Sutton proclaims
I am a real redneck and hillbilly, I guess, for I do live in some hilly country
Then he reveals
My personal preference is for a particular King James
Then this
Let's not cross-over
Then
That does not equal to an accurate transmission, however, for the basis was flawed, to begin with.
And
I would suggest that I do this, as well.
Ended with this
But when some supposed fact that is historically inaccurate is presented, or some unsupported or unsupportable statement is made... there I draw the line. Is there something wrong with that, in your opinion?
The only things I see wrong is not what I see, but what I'm hearing!

Is that a banjo I hear?

See what happens when some one picks and chooses from any source what one can conclude?

Wouldn't it be best to stick with something complete verses somethings that are only proliferated at best?

I really doo hope for all our sakes, especially Brother Ed's, that we don't hear pigs a squeelin' anytime in the near future!:tongue3: Afterall, most bill hillies from 'round cheer don't go nowhere's near them Blue Ridge Mountin's without a bow and arrow.

Forgive me, I just couldn't help myself!

DHK, you can close it. But, this dead horse will be revived again and again. I wonder just how far this thread could actually go (probably until Jesus comes back).
