Is it really SIN to be angry with God ?

Discussion in 'General Baptist Discussions' started by RightFromWrong, Aug 8, 2005.

  1. I never accused anyone here of having a unhealthy relationship that was you. I made a general statement, if you took it personal that is your problem.

I noticed you didn't get on Joseph and Aarons case for attacking me and calling me names and distoring my story accusing me of lying ? Where were you for that if you are so quick to point out truths. You seem a bit partial.

My point still remains that yes we need to teach our children how to handle their emotions. And we do. But just taking human nature as it is. We still love our children even if they expressed their feelings wrong. Hopefully we do not punish them, and neither does God. In fact his response and reaction to our hurt of injustice is GREATER ! Most children respond out of selfish motives their anger and that needs to be corrected no doubt. But if he vents out because of injustice how does a parent correct that ? Does the parent see that as SIN I sure hope not, he should see it for what it is, confusion and a misunderstanding. I rest my case [IMG]
They are different reactions which DEMAND different RESPONSES !

By the way Bapmom God isn't able to SIT right down with us when we are struggling and questioning him. It sure would make things a whole lot easier if he would.

  2. Answer me this ALL

If God is called our FATHER
wouldn't it make sense that as a FATHER we should be able to go to him with our pain, our questioning, our even being mad at him ?

According to scripture God is BETTER and GREATER and more LOVING, than any Father here on earth.MATT 7:11

Jesus said " If YOU then being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more shall your father who is in Heaven give what is good to those who ask him "

How many times have our children ( you may not understand this if you don't have children just think about when you were little )
Come to US and question our judgment, or complained to US and say hey that isn't fair ( they not seeing the whole picture ) or how about this one " I'm Mad at you " or "I hate you " Teenagers huh ?

Anyway my point is this. A loving parent would NEVER punish a child for sharing his TURE feelings no matter how WRONG those feelings are. Yes their perseption may be wrong and so is their attitude. But a LOVING parent is BIGGER than that, he sees where the child is comming from, doesn't take it PERSONALLY and tries to understand and HELP that child see the TRUTH and move on to MATURITY.

This is the bottom line of my arguement and I am RIGHT ! ( wish I had thought of this truth before, this truth dawned on me last night and is the crutch Of what I beleive to be true and so do most people)

GOD is greater, and bigger than our understanding, people need to quit being so quick to put God in little boxes.

Growing up I didn't have a good father figure. He sure wasn't great at giving gifts. He also wasn't great when it came to questioning him, he'd as soon knock your block off for daring to question his authority , and feelings, oh no ! don't share those you big baby !

So If I see God as a father I can complain to, question when I am confused and even shake my fist at once in awhile, then maybe I'm not the one with the problem. Maybe I'm the one who has the healthy relationship with my heavenly father, he isn't like earthy fathers HE UNDERSTANDS !

"By the way Bapmom God isn't able to SIT right down with us when we are struggling and questioning him. It sure would make things a whole lot easier if he would."

Sure God does! I sit down with Him all the time and talk to Him about whats bothering me, and whats going on in my life, and on and on.....if I were Him Id get sick of it....lol but I know He doesn't! Amen!?

As to my chastising Aaron and Joseph Botwinick....for one thing, Im a new member here! Ive already unwittingly stirred things up here so much you really think Id dare to "chastise" veteran members and moderators!? I have not bothered to go through and read all ELEVEN pages of this thread. If you have that much time, more poweer to ya'! Its also not my job to keep anyone else in line, no matter how much I might like to....it is a temptation which I deal with quite often!

I haven't thought I was chastising you up until you started PMing me with stuff this morning. Now I realize that your only point in starting this thread was to point out how right you are! Several times you've said things along the lines of "I'm RIGHT!" and left at least me with the idea that you think you are right and the rest of us can go chase ourselves. Why ask for thoughts then? You asked for our thoughts, we gave them to you.

Look, you get your point, I get your point, let's just leave it at that.

I for one, want to be done with it.

    "Rightfromwrong":

"Let this cup pass from me, nevertheless, not my will, but thy will be done"

Jesus drank of that bitter cup, then proceeded to bare the Cross to Calvary; where God took out all His wrath upon Him Who became sin for us.

Did I miss something? Or didn't God the Father deal with how His Only Begotten feel?

Maybe emotionalism has too much precedence in the human relationship between father and son, but as the Lord has led, my children do get corrected as their hearts reveal an incorrect thought process about life, in general, to morally speaking. And no matter how "heartfelt" their ideas may be, if a consistency in misdirected thinking ensues, chastisement will drive foolishness from the heart of the child, God SAID SO!!!

May be that "rightfromwrong" needs to learn Right from WRONG.

Perhaps the misconception comes in when it comes to "punishment."

RFW, you just there in your post quoted by Salamander, you JUST SAID that those sentiments CAN BE WRONG! Thats all we are saying! At least thats all IM saying!

CORRECTION is needed, not a fearful punishment, God just waiting to squish us....but loving correction, telling us rather how we should be thinking.

  6. Yeah Ok I get it. believe me I do get more than you think.

I may sound a bit defensive and arrogant because I feel I am not getting much backup, but getting picked on instead. I'll leave it at that.

By the way Bapmom....Joseph and Aaron are NOT moderators they are just as plain as me, and I've been here longer than you too.

  7. I started this thread Bapmom, so I would think I would have all the right in the world, to defend my original post wouldn't you think.

I noticed you just came on Sat and already have close to a hundred post. Maybe you should have read all 11 post in this thread before giving your opinion.

I always read every single post in a thread before I voice my opinion. To me if someone said basically the same thing I was going to say. I just say RIGHT ON you said it right.

    You'll learn I hope.

    Bro. Eaton,

The odds are that if you post long enough, you will eventually post something you wish you hadn't or communicate it in the wrong way. Those odds have caught up with me. I meant that first sentence for both you and RFW. The last statement was meant only for RFW. My apologies.

This is an odd saying, isn't it?

May God bless us all with the truth so that if we are asked to go a mile with a brother or sister we shall go two.

    Bro. Dallas
</font>[/QUOTE]Bro. Dallas, please go back to the first page and notice my statements and quotes from Job and I think you will have my response to this argument. I think it is very clear that God did not take too well to Job's criticism of God and that Job, indeed, repented in ashes and dust after a stinging rebuke from God. Now, if Job did not sin, why would he need to repent?

    1. They are stuck in their sin because of their total depravity. It is the grace of God which frees them from sin.

    2. The Bible says it is a sin to be angry at God, or else Job would have been totally justified to criticize God, would not have recieved a stinging rebuke for doing so, and would not have repented.

    3. Your problem is not with me or Aaron, it is with God and his word.

Of course he did. All have sinned and have fallen short of the Glory of God. It's in the Bible. Check it out sometime.

The only way anger at God could possibly be righteous is if God actually did something wrong. This is never the case. Being angry at God is never righteous or justifiable. It is common, but it is sin, just like many other common sins.

That is because none of that ever happened.

  14. I just reported you joseph for just a few of your rude and mean comments to me here are a few below.....JOSEPH WROTE......

You and your pastor are teaching blasphemy if you think it is ok (or even righteous anger) to be angry at God. It may be common, and even a natural and expected response. But, it is in no way alright, and is sinful.

2.You are one of the most judgemental people I have met in a long while, and on top of that, you are very prideful and arrogant in your "compassion".
    1. I am guessing that we are hearing one side of the story so we'll just have to take your word for it. I am detecting, however, a bit of the ole "I'm the innocent martyr" complex coming from you.

    2. I am also guessing that you now know that it is a very stupid thing to do to push a police officer when they are trying to hancuff you. I hope you learned your lesson here and won't repeat that mistake.
    5. If you are angry at God about something, let me tell you that you have no good reason to be, your anger is not righteous, and you need to repent of your sin and rebellion.

    6. I pray that God will open your heart to the truth of the Bible, and free you from your pride, arrogance, and anger.

    RFW,

I stand by every single one of those words. If that means that I am unpopular or that the moderators agree with you, I will submit to whatever punishment is handed down, but I will not apologize for the truth. Still praying for you BTW.

    2 Timothy 4:1-5

    Matthew 10:11-15

I am shaking the dust off my feet. The truth of the Word of God has been presented by me and rejected by you. Any further conversation will be fruitless and vain babbling. All I can do now is pray for you, and pray I will.

    Good Day,

    Joseph Botwinick

    1. You don't know me at all. You are very judgemental.

    2. If others are e-mailing you to gossip about me behind my back, then they are cowards and I don't care what they think of me.

    3. If you don't want to discuss with me, be challenged or debated, then you are the one with a problem and should probably cease from posting on the internet for your own good.

    4. Still praying for you.

    Good evening,
