The president says yes and he will, I agree with him... I think its time to show those who are messing with country, its might... Isn't it our duty to protect against all enemies foreign and domestic?... Time to show them the BIG GUNS... Sorry I'm a Christian and the Marine in me got out... To those who served specifically and to others what are your thoughts... Brother Glen

No. It’s time for Trump to tell Americans what’s really going on. The never trumper and liberal leaders are purposefully allowing the destruction in hopes of blaming Trump’s call to start shooting the criminals who have lost their minds. If he does, the world media not just our fake media will begin the next phase of the removal of a duly elected president.

I say let it burn to the ground and let the states handle the fall out.

Yes and it's a time for people to protect their residence and families with lethal force. If your governing body has implemented unjust laws preventing you from protecting your residence and family, disregard such unjust laws. Our great Christian Sheriff Grady Judd got a lot of national exposure today for directing our residents to protect themselves. Perhaps one of our tech savvy members could find and post the video. Sheriff of Polk County, Florida. It's sad that it's come to this but it is what it is.

What role would the military assume? They're barred from enforcing laws under Posse Comitatus. They can't conduct searches or make arrests. So what are they supposed to do?

Unless the President enacts the Insurrection Act, it depends from state to state. The governors and state law determine what the National Guard can and cannot do. I'm thinking that in most cases, they are just there to be seen.

What would that Act allow?

My answer, YES.

If any here are in Rochester NY, there is a threat to your city tonight. Stay in, & stay armed.

I love how the “don’t trust the government guy” is ready to send in the military against its own citizens. Lol.

No. The President should not call out the military. States should use the National Guard as title 32. Deploying title 20 or federal troops on American soil is a very bad idea. Trump may be able to do it under the InsurrectionAAct, but it is unconstitutional.

The irony is some of those who turn to the US Constitution in political debates are willing to sacrifice it here. Federal troops have no business acting against American citizens on US soil.

States can, however, deploy the military within their state. We may even get some new songs from Neil Young.

It is a very bad idea. I do not even know why anyone would want this done. States can deploy the National Guard under title 32 authority. But deploying the National Guard under title 10 or deploying federal troops is a very bad idea when on American soil.

The thing is the President can deploy federal troops to help protect states. But if this is the situation then the states should have already deployed their resources and asked for help.

It is not the role of the Federal Government to decide what is best for states. It may sound bad, but if states decide to do nothing then let them burn. That is up to the state.

I am a very strong states rights guy and for a small federal government. I don't even support a federal income tax (but I pay it). I believe the Federal Government should tax states and states should tax its citizens. So obviously I am against deploying federal troops to handle riots.

As a former military man i am still under my oath to protect the innocent from ALL ENEMIES BOTH FOREIGN AND DOMESTIC. domestic are those who are terrifying/hurting the innocent.

terrorists have forfeited their citizenship.

I am old but still ready, able and armed to protect the innocent if called upon along with 18 million veterans AND
millions of armed men and women which constitutes an armed militia

any local officials even up to state governor who defund law enforcement officer entities ARE TRAITORS and will pay for their crime along with those WHO THEY ENABLE.
AS PART OF THE ARMED MILITIA This I personally promise to my fellow Americans.

America has faced many fools such as ANTIFA who have attempted to divide us but have never conquered.

Please don't even try.

the role of the federal Govt is to protect the USA from enemies foreign and domestic, to keep the peace, what would be wrong with doing just that now, since the Dem stated governors refuse to as for National guard?

Do you think that the main reason the Dem governors are refusing the Guard is due to them not looking like going against Blacks, and also want Trump to send in Military and accuse him of being now a Tryant?

Because they are states. If the state asks for help that is different.
