The NT applies to each and every generation

I agree. And yet the Gospel of Matthew was written to a different audience than the Gospel of John, so understanding the audience will help US get a richer understanding of the great TRUTHS hidden within each of those books.

Agree, just fighting back against the concept that some here seem to have that not all of the NT books apply for and to us today!
