Cannabis as a Sacrament:

Exodus 30:22"Take the following fine spices: 500 shekels of liquid myrrh, half as much of fragrant cinnamon, 250 shekels of fragrant cane [qaneh-bosm], 500 shekels of cassia--all according to the sanctuary shekel--and a hind of olive oil. Make these into a sacred anointing oil”

Simple translation, there was pot in the Sacred Anointing Oil, the same anointing oil that John the Baptist would have used when Baptizing Jesus of Nazareth. Qaneh-bosm is the Hebrew cognate of cannabis. This has been confirmed by Hebrew University in Israel.

Did everyone have a great urge for a 40 pound bag of Oreo cookies after the sacrament?

Do you have a a link to the Hebrew University 'confirmation'?

Because other authors disagree. Go here and use the dropdown menu in the upper right hand page to skip ahead to page 73:

A small private Christian school in northern California, where many rural homes have little storage buildings in the back area, tells us the truth. In the combined kindergarten/first grade of about 15 kids, 7 were difficult. They exhibited signs of foetal alcohol syndrome, but THC from their mother's ignorant use, had crippled their minds. One little boy sat rocking, saying over and over, I want to be good, but only God's providence can alter or minimize the affect of his brain damage.

The bible is crystal, it condemns drugs.

If the law was against the bibles teachings then, yes. However, it is not against the law in some states.

If the law was to not pray, beat your wife everyday,(vulgarity removed). Would you obey?

However, I am just wondering if pot and drinking are okay, since the bible say's it is.

My personal stance is that is probably does more damage then good ( even in moderation). It is even worse if done in front of children. However, I am just wondering biblicaly speaking.

Only if you want a demonic entity attached to you.
When I was in the Word of Faith cult, I believe this. That there are demons assigned to different behaviors and that you could invite demonic oppression by doing certain things.

That's one of the things that led me to throw away all of my rock and roll records. Fortunately, I was still young and hadn't really built my collection up. I've since built it up to a couple thousand.

I got saved and left that cult and no longer believe their nonsense.

God put marijuana here for our use. I know for a fact that smoking even just a little bit of the drug is an immediate cure for the nausea associated with chemo and radiation oncology treatments. The price for this cure would amount to about 10 dollars every two weeks.

I don't believe God wants us smoking pot all the time. I don't believe God wants us stoned. I do believe the plant has medical benefits and I do believe we should allow people access to it.

I don't know about any "cult" as I have never been in one. I'm just speaking from first-hand experience with people I know.
It's just like LSD, there are long term "consequences" for a child of God to be dabbling in Satanic drugs. They effect the mind.

"biblically speaking" the Bible condemns drugs.

Now when I say drugs, I am referring to "spell casting" drugs, drugs that affect your mind. So medical drugs are not in view, but the drugs used for recreational purposes are front and center.

Translations vary but often some form of sorcery is found in the list of no-no's. Galatians 5:20, Revelation 21:8, Revelation 9:21

I wish the farmers here could grow industrial hemp, I think it's ridiculous overkill legislation that prevents them from tapping into this booming market. AND, I wish I could grow some hemp among my cole crops in the garden because it repels white flies. As far as the drug goes, from what I know, alcohol is much much worse than THC. jmho.

Try planting your crops in a Chicken coupe with a plastic dome ( act's as a greenhouse ). Just make sure you Wire it correctly to keep the Chicken's out of them. They seem to enjoy nibbling on it, throughout the day. :p

Im trying to locate a plastic material I can adapt to a shed that ...has a pipe like frame & was originally covered with a tarp like plastic material. It got ripped apart by the Sandy Storm in New Jersey so now I want to convert it to a growth hothouse....any suggestions & where would you by it?

Gettin' Too Old For This....

I must be getting old. Before I was saved I was a "partaker" of the happy weed....but I never thought I'd EVER be in the middle of a group of professing Bible "Believers" who would be seriously discussing the pro's and con's of growing/smoking pot....from any reasonable perspective...much less a "biblical" one. That said...I do recognize that there appear to be some legitimate medical applications for the use of cannibus and definite industrial uses for Hemp as a product. Under legitimate medical supervision that may be one thing...but in our culture the most prominent usage will ALWAYS be recreational. I have old friends that have continued its use ever since High School and they are just...well...how can I say this...."not all there". Like any drug.....this stuff will bite you. Christians should know better. Some will go to extreme lengths to justify their selfish desires to enjoy what THEY want to do. The ONLY opinion that really matters is Gods...in MHO.

Frankly...it is discussions like this that occasionally make me want to reconsider the value of the time I spend participating here on the Baptist Board at all. I'm sure there are some here who would be glad to see me depart. There is NO spiritual value in gettin' buzzed. You don't win the world by acting like them. Incredible!
