Is Prayer Necessary for Salvation?

Paul preached a new covenant, one in which the works of the law, that is, Mosaic law, no longer matters. Christ fulfilled the law giving us a better covenant of which he is the mediator.

Then why the heavy emphasis on repentance from sin in order to be "born again"? Jesus, the NEW COVENANT, paid the penalty so that sin is not a factor in being born again! Sin is a Mosaic law situation is it not?

Man participates in the new covenant through faith. Saved by grace, through faith, right?

Saved through faith while God's grace prevails.

I think you are mixing up the mosiac law with the fruits of the Spirit- those actions which God enables us to do through the grace He gives us. I think you would agree that once we are no longer of the world we cannot live of the world correct?

I Never do that! While we remain in the world we are always in the tempation of the world, but because we have the God given ability called human will, and because we as Born Again people, have a new set of instructions given by God, God leaves it up to us to use our human will in accordance with the instructions he has given us to live our lives not in accordance with the world but In accordance with the renewed spirit that worships God. We remain free to sin if we choose to sin, but we are warned about what sin does to us. We are also free to be obedient servants of God, and thus receive reward and blessing for so doing. It remains up to us how we live our lives. "Choose this day whom you will serve."

I don't think Kathryn is trying to imply that she has not recieved the justification for her sins, and is trying to do good works to earn it. Is that what you are trying to imply she is implying?

All mankind has been Justified by the Atonement of Jesus Christ!
All who believe in Jesus, God, are sanctified from those who do not!
All Who believe in God shall have everlasting life.

Atonement justifies!
Belief Sanctifies!
Faith Saves!

Mosaic law, under the old covenant allowed a person to atone for their own sins, and thus cleansing a person from the penatly of a specific sin, because they themselves paid for it. Christ offers an unconditional atonement in which one does not add their own sacrifice of works of the law. This is the only way that we can be reunited with the family of God- because there is no way that we can atone for our sins- that is do works for our salvation and make it to heaven.

Christ calls us to a new life in Him, by entering into the New Covenant and becoming an adopted son of God. The sign of entering God's family is baptism. In this New Covenant we called to be a faithful people (Romans 1:5). No where in the New Testament are we lead to believe since we have a relationship with Christ do we have the option of being lukewarm if we so choose. We are expected to pick up our cross and follow Christ.

What is santification? How does it compare to justification?
