And yet for centuries the Early Church kept the Sabbath and the church in the east, away from Rome, continued as we see in the case of the St. Thomas Christians in India and even to the Far East. But scripture gives us the true test...The Old Testament tells us (Ex 20:8) Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy"
.
In the New Test, Jesus re-states most of the 10 commandments
Matthew Chapter 18 lists most of the 10 - the differences being murder instead of killing and does NOT list the Sabbath as well.
The reason we worship on Sunday is that we are celebrating the Resurrection each week.
One other thing -
This is the first sentence of your OP
If the Sabbath was abolished, there would be many verses and much text to show it, yet there is none.
Now allow me to change one word:::
If sacrificing a lamb was abolished, there would be many verses and much text to show it, yet there is none. Of course I realize that the crusification paid the penalty of sin - BUT it could be that He wants us to still sacrifice a lamb so we have a visual remembrance of our sins being cleansed.
Acts 13:44
And the next Sabbath day came almost the whole city together to hear the word of God.
Acts 15:21
For Moses of old time hath in every city them that preach him, being read in the synagogues every Sabbath day.
Acts 16:13
And on the Sabbath we went out of the city by a river side, where prayer was wont to be made; and we sat down, and spake unto the women which resorted thither.
Acts 17:2
And Paul, as his manner was, went in unto them, and three Sabbath days reasoned with them out of the scriptures,
Acts 18:4
And he reasoned in the synagogue every sabbath, and persuaded the Jews and the Greeks.
