Some of it is just psychological manipulation. Some of it may be demonic. But none of it is from God. It is nothing but an emotion fest created to feed the flesh. Its pure garbage.

Many churches overseas (here as well) would love to invite you to see the manifest presence of God in their ministries through the things mentioned in the OP. Then you could decide whether or not it's "pure garbage." But then, there were such mockers in the Bible as well who said the exact thing you're saying here. So unbelief and ridicule is nothing new.

Miracles, healing, casting out demons..etc all taking place in a little thing called 'the rest of the world' outside of your little box. Satan casting out satan. Yeah, OK.

Why not take all the faith healers to a childrens hospital and cure the children if it is real ?

Matthew 7:22-23
Many will say to me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name and in your name drive out demons and in your name perform many miracles?’ Then I will tell them plainly, ‘I never knew you. Away from me, you evildoers!’
Still wana roll the eyes?

I always wondered the same thing. If we have true Christian healers among us, why dont they go from town to town into the hospitals and let the power of Christ be known through miracle healings??? Just as the apostles did. Let the lost world see and maybe they will believe! Isn't that the purpose of that gift?

I would love to. I have been a part of healing when laying on hands. I've seen it first hand. I can't answer your question, but I am sure the reasons have to do with faith. Some get healed, others don't. But this doesn't stop us from pressing forward.

This passage is dealing with false prophets and their fruit. They did not perform the things they were claiming. You will recognize them by their fruit. Obviously, a corrupt tree cannot bear good fruit. So they did not do what they were claiming.

Refer you to Mark 3:22-30

In my studies, I researched the Charismatic movement, both the independent variety and that which is in the mainline or established denominations, Protestant and Catholic. And this research involved questioning members as well as a considerable period of time in worship services.

My conclusion: Some of it I believe to be genuine or real, but much of it is not. So, to answer the OP: I would say, it depends. I have seen what I consider to be genuine workings of the Holy Spirit, and what I believe were counterfeit or even demonic workings. From some of the things I saw, I would caution people who get into this to be careful. You may have Satan sitting next to you instead of the Holy Spirit. I don't say this to be funny, either. I am dead serious. I became convinced of the reality of a personal evil force from the charismatic movement. And let me strongly emphasize this: Any time you see out-of-control or frenzied "worship", it is NOT of God!! God is a God of order and decency. Barking, grunting, wallowing around on the floor are not produced by the Holy Spirit! These are not gifts of the Spirit! I say this as a warning to anyone thinking of dabbling in this variety of the Charismatic movement.

What kind of healings were you a part of? Have you seen what it would take to convince me? like a person with a missing arm or leg to grow a new one? I doubt it. It's always the unseen-- headaches or back or stomach problems, which are among the most influenced by the psychological state of the person; or, as seen on TV with these guys for whom the gospel is their way to worldly riches, sometimes cancer or diseases of the heart, lungs, other organs... but you don't see anything happen but them looking up and throwing hands with "O.. GLOOOORY TO GODDDD!!!!!!" What happens to them as time goes by? Obviously we don't hear about that-- except occasionally one who has surpassed the probabilities and lived beyond what was prognosticated. Instead it's more heeealings and more "GLOOOOORY TO GODDDD!" with supposed new ones. Occasionally there may be a claim, sometimes an extended interview, where the person says he/she has already outlived the prognostication, or in fact did recover greatly from what diagnosed-- but the large majority who claim healing you never hear about; prognostications are ranges, usually broad, of when a turn for the worse will likely take place; and even with modern medical knowledge and technology, there are still missed diagnoses. You have to be a very elementary thinker to take all this in, and a complete sucker to keep on making these jerks richer for their frauds and exploitations.

So, if you have been part of this, recall the last 5 healings, if you can, in which you have had a part. (1)What were they healed of? (2)How do you know they were healed? [their own word? they tossed a crutch away and did a dance? they were just 'declared' healed?...] (3)Did you know them and/or have true access to their conditions? (4)What happened a month later? 3 months? 6 months a year?

Yes, these doubters are such spiritual morons that it's quite unbelievable!
Actually, Gershom, they're really just pulling your leg ... and you fell for it (again).
They love to get a big rise out of people ... while they're blaspheming the precious work of the Holy Spirit.

P.S. There ARE many phonies out there, and some are so because they've been deceived into following Satan.

Hey, I just read more of these posts! ... Very educational indeed.

What we're witnessing here, folks, is a horrendous case of UNBELIEF!
And Jesus is NOT pleased.

Just a tiny little News Flash hot off the press ...
"I am the Lord, I do not change."
"Jesus is the same yesterday, today, and forever."

But, He NO LONGER performs miracles, heals the sick, casts out demons, delivers the oppressed, etc.

You people disgust me! ... Remember how disgusted Jesus was with His Jewish brethren, da Pharisees?
