It's all about 'having knowledge' superior to God's revelation.

We're supposed to recognize what Gnostics and occultists believe, discern what influences they may be wheedling and cajoling, and deal with them according to Leviticus 19:31 "Regard not them that have familiar spirits, neither seek after wizards, to be defiled by them: I am the LORD your God."

Ok....so not Gnosticism but an aspect (secret knowledge) of Gnosticism. Thanks for the clarification.

At times, that is what seems to be claimed for the KJV by many KJV-only advocates as they will make claims for the KJV that are not revelation presented in Scripture and yet they are claimed to be scriptural by KJV-only advocates.

My assertion suggests that ignoring, disregarding, and neglecting the heritage of the preserved Scriptures in the original languages has resulted in versions nearer to the Occult.
