Hmmm... I wonder if the Bible prohibits chocolate. There are many people addicted to chocolate.

So God allowed this then, but He doesn't now or at other times?Originally posted by Linda64:

Not really, but it could be construed that way. One reason that I hesitated though is that the word "fundamental" has become so misused, just as "liberal" and "conservative" have. That's the reason that I qualified "fundamental" as "believing the Bible".Originally posted by Helen:
Isn't that sort of like saying "I only want people who agree with me to vote"?
Ok, I am confussed. Above you say that wine was allowed at festivals, in "moderation" and drunkness was forbidden, which is what I have been saying the whole time, Wine in moderation is ok, Drunkness is not...Originally posted by Linda64:
Thus God allowed the use of strong drink in moderation during the religious festivals. The moderation would have been emphasized, for drunkenness was forbidden in the Scriptures cited previously. The priests were never allowed to use strong drink when they were attending on the work of God (Le 10:9).
Things Hard To Be Understood: David Cloud (Deut. 14:26)
But, then here you seem to use the word "moderation" as a snear and jest at the fact that you can't drink in moderation...Originally posted by Linda64:
PASTORSBC--If the Scripture does not prohibit alcohol, why do you fear that you could become addicted? There should be no fear of addiction if the Bible permits drinking alcohol--in "moderation", of course.

Which is it? Is moderation a good word to use, or not?
Judges 9:13 And the vine said unto them, Should I leave my wine, which cheereth God and man, and go to be promoted over the trees?3. Does it edify?
