So just what perpetuates preeminence? Isn’t this what the whole argument is about?“…reconciled to the whole world…” is only by the death of the Lord Jesus.
Who is Calvin and who is Beza and who really cares? Honestly conversation like this is ad infinity ad nauseam. If you read Calvin you will see it is true. He wrestled with placing salvation under the category in Institutions of the Christian Religion. Beza systemized the Institutions with Sovereignty as the head doctrine.
Now, in regard to election and reprobation Calvin did place election itself as a matter of God's will. He leaned on Paul's illustration of the Potter.
But it was Beza who placed salvation as a whole under the category.
No, it isn't. It is important to those who want to know how theology and doctrine develop. One cannot discuss Calvinism, in a meaningful way, today without being familiar with the theology of John Calvin and Theodore Beza.Who is Calvin and who is Beza and who really cares? Honestly conversation like this is ad infinity ad nauseam.

They are not discussing it,d they are criticizing it.No, it isn't. It is important to those who want to know how theology and doctrine develop. One cannot discuss Calvinism, in a meaningful way, today without being familiar with the theology of John Calvin and Theodore Beza.
Criticizing it is discussing it.They are not discussing it,d they are criticizing it.
No….don’t get into it with me…you’re just some individual with an agenda and I don’t like you for that quality. If you can’t treat people who have different opinions and views of scripture that doesn’t agree with yours then it’s you who needs to get out.what do you mean who cares? these discussions are theology, and history is important.
If you are not interested, then move on, no need for silly comments
By now it’s just an excuse to have an argument, to belittle and disrespect other Christian’s and behave badly. Your the moderator right, look at it from that prospective.Criticizing it is discussing it.
We can't discuss or criticize Calvinism today compared to John Calvin's views if we do not recognize how Calvinism today developed.
Of course John Calvin believed in universal atonement. He made that abundantly clear. BUT he believed in unconditional ejection applied to a limited population based on God's will. So how did this develop into Limited Atonement?
Theodore Beza is one step (placing Salvation under the category of Divine Sovereignty).
The logical conclusion of John Calvin's Atonement is Limited Atonement. But it took time to get there.
Then define Calvinist. Are there different types and if so then what differentiates them from other Calvinists?Calvin was pretty plain that he did not believe in limited atonement. Calvin would not have been a good Calvinist.

Go chase yourselfWHY do you have to come on to MY posts, with your silly childish comments? if you don't like what is being discussed, then GO AWAY!
Then rudeness and disrespect for another’s belief system then! I’ve no problem with controversy but rudeness followed by this guy’s emotional unstable character is most unbecoming of the Forum. We are Baptists. We need no excuse to have an argument.
On this topic, I really don't see how an argument can be had.
Go chase yourself
Rudeness and disrespect for a belief system is perfectly fine. Rudeness to a person isn't.Then rudeness and disrespect for another’s belief system then! I’ve no problem with controversy but rudeness followed by this guy’s emotional unstable character is most unbecoming of the Forum.
Romans 9-11 is Paul's arguments about God's Elect People the Jews
I’m satisfied with this answer.Rudeness and disrespect for a belief system is perfectly fine. Rudeness to a person isn't.
This is one of those topics where Christians forget their faith. But their own behavior testifies to their heart. So I let it go until members report specific rule violations (using the report system). I have read very few posts on this thread and am relying on the report function. It is a boring topic to me as I don't see how any legitimate argument could be had.
This site does not pay me enough to read through the thread, so members who see a rule violation needs to report the violation using the report function.
You are a disaster… thanks for proving my point.are you on any meds? please take them!
