Okay, I'm getting concerned...how long until they determine they actually need to break into Camping's house and make sure he didn't drink some "kool-aid"?

Have they not heard from him? I've not listened to the news....

The article referred to him as a " the 89-year-old fundamentalist radio preacher " , but would you consider him a "fundamentalist"?

Even more sad is this part of the story:
"That was strike one, the man said. And this is strike two. Even so, he said, that doesn't mean the message is wrong.
"I just know he's biblically sound," the man said. "I've never been one of these guys who think everything he says is true.
"I don't think I am going to stop listening to him," the man added"

and the worse part

"It's given people who hate Christianity an excuse to hate it even more," she said. "People can just paint with broad brush strokes."

So Sad :tear:

I was tempted to be very naughty and leave little piles of clothes near the local Brethren chapel yesterday morning to fool them into thinking they'd been Left Behind, but I repented in time.

I know you were being light-hearted, Matt, but I am fairly sure that most Brethren (i.e. "Plymouth Brethren") would want to distance themselves from this Harold Camping nonsense as much as we do. :)

I think you're right - my parents-in-law are Exclusive Brethren and I don't think it's even registered on their radar. Bizarrely, if anything, it's the 'unchurched' who seemed to have been talking about it the most round our way.

His website home page has been changed... not a mention of any of his prophecies. Not even a "Sorry about that"

Well, the excuse is officially out. Listening to FamilyRadio.com, a station manager just quoted 2 Peter 3:9 and said that now it is just as it was in Peter's day. God decided to forbear so many more would have a chance for Salvation.

Yeah - Camping said that no one can be saved during the tribulation so what gives??
