I watched this video on local news, and read about it in the paper. All reports show that:
1) The police were called to the scene, after a neighbor complained and asked the couple not to make out in front of his house ....
2) The young actress and her boyfriend dissed the guy and went right on making out, with the car door wide open; making it easier to see them kissing ....
3) Neighbor calls and reports the incident ....
4) The cops respond, and after getting the guy and the actress [which they didn't know she was] out of the car, the cops politely asked for her ID.
5) She told them she didn't have to comply, and started to walk away, so they detained and cuffed her.
She continued to refuse to tell them her name, or answer other questions. After she started crying and screaming about her rights being violated, her boyfriend, with the other cop, gave that cop his Id and hers, and she was released.
IMHO, had she merely complied with the request for ID; she could have avoided this entire ugly incident! No charges were filed, and it was a rountine check .... no harm no foul!
Now today, on our local news, a Al Sharpton like activist, was in front of a camera, screaming that the actress was harrassed and arressted for, get this ..... "Kissing while black!"
Now, I know there are going to be some of the regulars who will call me racist, and other names [like an old white man], but, IMHO, this is one of the reasons the black community has become so self entitled and this kind of bad behavior only makes the black community look bad in the eyes of others.
There is nothing that the cops did wrong, and it had nothing to do with racial profiling. Maybe the neighbor who called it in was racist, but the cops were only following a well composed procedure when dealing with this kind of call!
With all that said .... what do you say about this?
BTW - I don't believe this is going to go away any time soon! I really expect Sharpton and Jackson to arrive in LA real soon, and a law suit to be following in the next week or so!
