http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2014/09/14/daniele-watts-actress-detained-police_n_5818304.html

I watched this video on local news, and read about it in the paper. All reports show that:

1) The police were called to the scene, after a neighbor complained and asked the couple not to make out in front of his house ....
2) The young actress and her boyfriend dissed the guy and went right on making out, with the car door wide open; making it easier to see them kissing ....
3) Neighbor calls and reports the incident ....
4) The cops respond, and after getting the guy and the actress [which they didn't know she was] out of the car, the cops politely asked for her ID.
5) She told them she didn't have to comply, and started to walk away, so they detained and cuffed her.

She continued to refuse to tell them her name, or answer other questions. After she started crying and screaming about her rights being violated, her boyfriend, with the other cop, gave that cop his Id and hers, and she was released.

IMHO, had she merely complied with the request for ID; she could have avoided this entire ugly incident! No charges were filed, and it was a rountine check .... no harm no foul!

Now today, on our local news, a Al Sharpton like activist, was in front of a camera, screaming that the actress was harrassed and arressted for, get this ..... "Kissing while black!"

Now, I know there are going to be some of the regulars who will call me racist, and other names [like an old white man], but, IMHO, this is one of the reasons the black community has become so self entitled and this kind of bad behavior only makes the black community look bad in the eyes of others.

There is nothing that the cops did wrong, and it had nothing to do with racial profiling. Maybe the neighbor who called it in was racist, but the cops were only following a well composed procedure when dealing with this kind of call!

With all that said .... what do you say about this?

BTW - I don't believe this is going to go away any time soon! I really expect Sharpton and Jackson to arrive in LA real soon, and a law suit to be following in the next week or so!

It's okay. No one thinks that you are the official representative of old white people.

But you present more foolishness here because of your own racial prejudices.

What self entitlement are you talking about? What bad behavior? Sitting in a car and kissing from what you said. Is that against the law?

Did the officers make an arrest or cite them with something? Otherwise this just looks silly and more of your lame attempt to stereotype black people based upon your own draconian racial prejudices.

Give it a rest. Read your Bible or something.

I read it before I posted and the contents therein show once again that this is just a lame attempt by someone hung up on racial prejudices trying to stereotype all black people.

Praise God that black people are aware that not all white people act like this. Your continued behavior shows the truth in what black people say about things just taking on a different form.

I don't understand why the cops needed to see ID. I hate asking this---what race were the cops?

they weren't JUST KISSING.
the lady was sitting ON THE MAN, not ON HIS LAP.
she was fully clothed, yes, so was the man.
but they were in a position where someone would think coitus was happening. in a car, with the car door open, and that's why the concerned citizen called.
so, yeah, your black lady was WRONG.
and she belongs to the entitlement crowd.
she thinks she's entitled to not give her ID when a duly authorized sworn police officer being paid by the community to which she belongs asks for it, just because she has the right to.

Thanks PB ... you did read the article and you saw what I saw .... a black movie star, who's star is on the rise, thinking the cops have no right to follow up on a report from a concerned neighbor.

This kind of activity between a John and hooker is common in LA. They did this by the book, and now the woman is trying to play the race card in such a way to get some free PR.

Any cop has the right to ask for, and expect cooperation in getting ID to verify the names of party for their reports. This lady was uncooperative. It was her boyfriend that put an end to the chaos by giving the cops her ID.

My point is, was, and will be .... like the young man in Ferguson. All they had to do was cooperate. Any reasonable, law obeying person would do what the man asks, and not challenge them. But too many blacks go around with a chip on their shoulder when it comes to the police, and that chip of entitlement is what gets them in a mess of hot water.

Ninety-nine times out of a hundred, when cops run inti blacks their is that entitled sense of being that clashes with authority and often ends badly. This is not racist, it is an unfortunate fact. Now these two, very polite cops are drawn into a battle to protect the manner in which they did their job.

It should not matter what race the cops were .... because regardless of their race, they didn't leave the donut shop thinking today would be a great day to hassle a black person. The truth is, cops get a gut ache when they roll up and see the call involves a black person.

As a social worker, I was more concerned for my well being when I discovered the home I was investigating involved a black family because that meant no matter what I did, it had a chance of being ugly.

I don't speak for any black people. I speak for the followers of Jesus Christ who are tired of your arrogant prejudice that you try to disguise as some sort of pious concern for the "plight of black people".
You've attempted to stereotype them as more violent.
You've tried to stereotype them as self-entitled.

What's next? Are you gonna purport that all black men are out to rape white women? Or maybe you're gonna try the old they're not clean and all smell like Cocoa Butter approach.

It's beyond obvious that YOU have a problem with black people. We will add it to the file and make sure you don't get an invite to the interracial Christmas Party.

Umm, I don't have a black lady. And perhaps you didn't read where I commented that HE said kissing. He didn't say she was sitting in the man's lap and doing other stuff.

So if she has the, in your words, RIGHT TO, how is that acting entitled any more than your right to breathe air?

'Django' Actress Daniele Watts Goes on Offensive

from the article

Watts claims she was detained because officers thought she was a prostitute. The actress, who is African American, and her white boyfriend, celebrity chef Brian James Lucas, have accused police of racism for questioning them after they say they were just "making out" in public.

An LAPD spokesman said officers from its North Hollywood precinct were responding to a citizen complaint.

"There was an indication on the radio call that a male white and female black were involved in a sexual act inside a Mercedes with the vehicle door open," Officer Sally Madera told CNN. "Two people were briefly detained, but it was revealed no crime had been committed."

Witnesses inside the Directors Guild office building told police they saw the couple having sex in the passenger seat of the vehicle, with the door open, according to TMZ. Watts told NBC News that while on the CBS lot they were approached by a man in a suit and asked to leave because "employees were distracted" by their PDA. She says they laughed it off and stopped a few minutes later.

Note that this is the Directors Guild. They would KNOW what actual coitus or simulated coitus looks like, and to them it looked like actual coitus, so they called.
When something shocks Hollywood or Stage directors guild's members or regulars, then there has to be something looking into, and the cops did their job, and they did their job well.
This BLACK woman is LYING THROUGH HER TEETH:BangHead:, AND SHE KNOWS IT, maybe because Django didn't really get her career flying.

Because any right thinking individual knows that there is no harm not insisting on a right, just because you have it, on certain occassions like when a DULY AUTHORIZED PERSON IN AUTHORITY politely requests for your ID in the interest of public order. HELLLLLLOOOOO ?

I'm not going to get involved in the racial part of all this, because it's just silly.

But...this whole show your papers thing I will get involved in. A right not exercised is a right lost. What if the "duly authorized person in authority" came to your house and politely asked to come in and search your home without a warrant? What if they politely asked you to turn in any guns you own? Would you still be on the side of complying for the sake of complying?

Why would they know? They are a union. They aren't the actors and directors of the films.

When something shocks Hollywood or Stage directors guild's members or regulars, then there has to be something looking into, and the cops did their job, and they did their job well.

I repeat. They are a union. If they were who you are supposing they were, they shouldn't have been shocked at all to see what THEY, if they were who you seem to be supposing they were, have made a staple in television and film.

This BLACK woman is LYING THROUGH HER TEETH:BangHead:, AND SHE KNOWS IT, maybe because Django didn't really get her career flying.

You really feel the need to stress that she is a BLACK woman as though being black makes her more apt to lie.

Weird board.

That's pure tomfoolerey crazy! Why would I give up my rights just because someone "plays" nice?

Police officers play nice all the time when they take folks in for questioning. Next thing you know, somebody has nicely been convinced to admit to something they didn't do.

Any right thinking individual knows that once you start giving up your Constitutional and legal rights, after a generation or two, the government thinks it's THEIR right to ask you to do so.

I'll pass on giving up rights.

Wow, just wow.

RD2 alleges that 99% of the time when blacks are approached by police they react with an entitlement attitude and conflict, then claims his statement is not racist.

I think we have enough here to make a judgment regarding RD2 and racism, folks.

 People need to be really careful about just giving up rights. When we give up our rights, we end up with stuff like the Patriot Act.

You talk for GOD!
You talk for the blacks ....
You talk for the illegals ....
You talk for the entitled ...
You talk for the president himself [quite impressive for a high school grad] ....
You talk for Jesus ....

It leaves one to think that you must have a big nose, as you love sticking it in anywhere and everywhere .... and the results are always the same. You do nothing to dis-spell the rumors of you being a troll who knows enough about everything to be dangerous to yourself.

What a pathetic little man you must actually be? You are so small that you need to attack, put down others and insult good people to pump up your pathetic little ego. Short people, short on confidence sit behind a computer putting others down so they can sleep better at night, because blowing up others makes their low self esteem feel better. But, you are so pathetic and down on yourself, you need to rag on as many people as often as possible to keep your image above the water line. Poor baby, you are drowning in self pity, and you are desperate to stay afloat.

So, if get your jolly's coming after me like a cyber bully.... who am I to crash your pitiful little pity party. Keep playing your game of judging others, it is mandatory in keeping you from feeling less than you actually are. The trouble is you alienate more people than you make friends and For the life of me, I can't see how you can look into a mirror ans call yourself better than those you are consistently putting down

You say your life is about winning souls for Jesus, but I guess folks like myself are not worth saving. The scum we are according to your moral high road. Your sole purpose in life is to rid the world of my kind. Wow, that is the real image of Christ?

His posts get more and more bizarre for someone who says they are a follower of Jesus.

And what entitlement attitude is he talking about? How do you act with an attitude of entitlement when dealing with the police? Entitled to what?I think he's been listening to talk radio too much again and just repeating what Sean and Rush say.

For a writer, the vocabulary just doesn't seem up to par. Maybe he's trying to say that they act above the law? Sounds like Congress.
