Just what must I do to be saved?

Ok, what is his image of God? I am asking, because I read in some of his statements agreement that men are totally depraved. If not, how can we develop such a perverted sense of what God is?

Also, we must ask which is the 'loftiest' mental picture of God, and even more important, can the visualization of this mental picture begin us along the road to idolatry because we direct our worship toward that image rather than toward God who is a Trinity of persons yet united in one and is a Spirit and must be worshipped in spirit.

Is it just me, or did it appear to you that his statement regarding the visualization of this image is a denial of the Biblical pronoucement that God created man in his image? In the end, I would be cautious at best in reading this because it appears he is working up to a denial of the inspiration of scripture. (He at least did not deny that he doubted the Biblical account of the creation of man in the image of man). This would be my concern regarding this man's writing. I realize this is limited to the first chapter or a portion of the first chapter. But he seems to be developing a course of denying the Biblical view of the creation of man being in the image of God.

Just some of my thoughts in reaction to your gracious provision of a portion of this writing.

I knew that you would do just what you did! failed to grasp the message that God is different than what man Perceives him to be. It is man's responsibility to "rightly think about God".

God does not conform to man's imaginings that have been written down and that get passed among men and so taint man's thoughts about God, the who and what of God.

A.W. Tozer was a Pastor of churches in the Chicago area and in Canada for over 40 years. Nowhere in his writings is there the hint of deviation from the Bible. Nowhere in his writings does he teach a false doctrine. And of his recorded sermons, I have not been exposed to even one false doctrine.

Should I post his chapter on Grace? or Love? or any of the other 18 or so attributes of God that he deals with?

If you cannot find his inexpensive small book where you are Frogman, PM me and I'll do what I can to get if for you, that is, if you are truly interested in reading it.
