Just Wondering? Do you think Catholic Priests Are Saved?

That’s why the Church is established by Jesus through the Apostles and their successors. The Catholic Church was guided by God to be the pillar and foundation of the Truth.

Luther chose his opinions and interpretations of scripture over the Apostles understanding of scripture handed down.

But the nature of “ Bible alone “ is not static but relativistic, it devolves from personal interpretation to personal interpretation. So no one holds all of Luther’s interpretations today, not even Lutherans.

The golden calf of personal opinion is enshrined in bible alonism, founding thousands of human founded traditions of men.
Even churches of the individual, guys saying they won’t attend a church ever again because the preachers didn’t teach their interpretations of scripture.

They alone are the only ones that truly understand the scripture. Bible alone is ego alone. It appeals to a certain pathology.

So how do you know which traditions are true?

Easy, by process of elimination, timeline and origin.

Protestantism was man founded traditions starting with Luther, Calvin etc.

Human origin, human interpretation, human doctrines, human tradition.

Immediately, you can eliminate all of these human traditions and traditions that devolved from them.
You can save yourself huge amounts of time just by finding out which traditions are human founded. Their origins.

Side note.
A friend of mine asked AI who started the Catholic Church, and the answer came back, Jesus Christ.

He then asked who founded Protestantism and the answer came back, Martin Luther first, but then listed all the other Bible alone , Faith alone human founders that rebelled from each other and separated unity from each other.

So, you can safely disregard all these human founded religions, right of the bat.
Ironically, none of them had anything to do with the Bible. The Bible didn’t come from any of their human founded traditions.

The Bible has it’s origins in the Catholic Church, the Catholic Church preserved all the scriptures from the Apostles through great persecutions and finally canonised the Bible itself.
Where do you get all of this stuff? You are dead wrong. I cannot find the word Catholic anywhere in the Bible, but then because Catholics fail to understand the Bible and basically rule it out, they can make up anything they want and that's what they did. Churches existed during the time of Christ that were local and independent just like Baptist churches are today. There were no Catholics during the time of Christ. They didn't come along until a few hundred years later.
John was not John the Lutheran, he was not John the Methodist, he was not John the Episcopalian, he was not John the Catholic, BUT, he WAS John the Baptist.

Well there you go. Absolute proof the Catholics are correct. AI says so

Peace to you

We have two major political parties. The DNC is a wolf that proudly announces its identity. The GOP is a wolf in sheep's clothing. I view the latter as the greater danger.

Our fight is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.
This being the case, what is a believer to do? Just stay home and pray during election day?

I had thought that Donald Trump was running in 2016 in order to make Hillary Clinton a "Shoe-In" but for the most part, he hasn't been that bad of a president! I wish he would lay off the "Gulf of America and Lake America" nonsense and I am hoping there is a good underlying strategy related to Iran because doing what he did when he did it may just be political suicide for the Republicans in the November election. If the Democrats regain control of congress, there will be another impeachment (for whatever they can drum up) and a likely conviction (for whatever they can make stick).

I guess I could ask which Republicans you think are the actual "wolves in sheeps clothing," The "MAGA" Republicans or the or the mainstream "Bush/Cheney" Republicans? Seems the latter have been in cahoots with the Democrats in selling our country out to the globalist agenda.

I'm not trying to "gang up" on Cathode, I just can't believe some of the stuff he writes. Just trying to help him out in his theology, but that is a lost cause. Everyone is entitled to believe what they want to believe.

Lol. You’re tough stuff @Cathode, the BB invites you here with the ‘Other Denominations Forum’ and then gangs up on you for being another denomination. Hang in there!

Well I’m not here of my own accord really, there is some reason I’m meant to be here.
I wish I could share more things here, I have had some powerful spiritual experiences, even just yesterday while praying with the dying.
People have mocked my spiritual experiences, so I would be at fault sharing them and opening them up to mockery.

Have you gotten a line the water recently mate?

Went to Galveston Island and surf fished with my Romanian SIL last year, going to North Carolina next week to visit my brother and check out the Barrier Islands. He’s foaming at the bit to get me into his refurbished boat, if his health is up to it. I’m 72, he’s 78.

We might fish.

The believer should follow his or her own conscious.

There are a lot of things we (those of us who do not take part in the powers of this dark world and the spiritual forces of evil) could do that does not include participation in secular politics.

For example, the SCOTUS ruled that people can hand out water and handwarmers when a state (NYC) banned the practice. This would be a good way to be Christ to others.

You mentioned a dismissive way a very important thing Christians could do. We could stay at home or gather together to pray. We should never discount prayer.

But the mere fact that we abstain from participating in these powers is itself a testimony to our faith. It demonstrates, for example, that Christians do not look to the powers of this evil world to solve its own problems. It shows that there is another Way, another kingdom that is not of this world.

I have found that refusing to try to change the world through the systems of the world is also a great opening to share the gospel and the solution God has given. Knowing that we are not called to fix the world makes refusing to participate in these powers an easy choice for many of us.

For those who choose to participate in these spiritual forces I think they could use their common secular values to find a way to introduce the gospel.

For example, a Republican Christian encountering a Democrat (and vise versa) could show that politics should not divide people, that regarding most political issues the majority of people on both sides are trying to achieve the same goals but in different ways, even if they sometimes focus on different aspects of the problem. Both sides are trying to fix the world using the powers of the world, they just disagree on how to use these secular powers to acvomplish their purposes.

Is this AI? Really?

I was reading through it seeing if there was anything worth responding to but am absolutely dumbfounded. Perhaps Cathode is using AI to make all his arguments?

Personally I’m against using AI but like I said I thought it was an interesting side note.

What I have explained in that post is more how Catholic perspective views things.

Historically we can see the human origins of Protestantisms traditions.

The rejection of the Apostles traditional interpretation of scripture for human interpretation of scripture was catastrophic.

Most Protestants go their whole life not knowing that the Bible itself is Catholic tradition, yes even Protestant 66 books were all preserved, authenticated and canonised by the Catholic Church.

The Bible is not scriptural, there is no inspired book which lists which books even belong in Bible.

The Bible you hold in your hand is Catholic Tradition.

I always take at least hand lines and cast net with terminal tackle, pliers etc, just in case there’s a danger of any fishing happening.

Just make sure he serviced the motor, I’ve been caught out before on other people’s boats. Either adrift or stuck on mud flats at low tide surrounded with big crocs at night.
I take extra water and food and other supplies. How remote is the area?

They cannot be saved if the see the heretical gospel according to Rome as what saved them
God can hit straight with a crooked stick. The Catholics have the gospel, plus a lot of tradition and, imo, false teaching especially concerning Mary. It is wrong to place an absolute statement in this case.

But if it were true that they cannot be saved, then Luther and Calvin plus many other reformers would not have been saved, as they were Catholic priests and remained so trying to reform the Catholic Church.

Peace to you

But they definitely could have been saved IF they followed the true plan of salvation written in the gospels and not some made up Catholic tradition and the so called sacraments for their salvation.
