Hitler was a Nazi. Mussolini was fascist. The two can be linked together, but no one with and understanding of the two link it to Socialism. Neither Hitler nor Mussolini was Socialist.

Socialism -- is a theory of social organization that advocates the ownership and control of the means of production and distribution, of capital, land, etc., in the community as a whole.

Fascism -- a governmental system led by a dictator with total power, suppressing opposition and criticism. All industry, commerce, etc. is controlled and usually aggressive nationalism is followed with racism added to the ugly mix.

Nazism -- is fascism modified to include extreme racism.

Crabby, it is difficult to see any basic difference in your definitions of Socialism, Fascism, and Nazism. You omitted Communism. They make an unholy quartet all under the blanket of Marxism!

I would note that the Obamma brand of Socialism/Nazism has substituted abortion for Hitler's hatred of Jews as means to consolidate power. Of course Obamma has demonstrated tendencies of racism: he doesn't like blacls or whites.

I will use the terms that historians would use. KM came from a bourgeois class in Germany---so he never had to sweat for a living. This nut was totally against profits, except for an elite elected by himself. Now for the working class he was violently against profits, alleging they are the source of exploitation & all human misery. Of course he allowed for the aristocracy and inherited wealth to retain their money, social standing etc. It is only those who attained new wealth that he had a problem with..... thats because people in his social class fear & are envious of people who work & create wealth & prosperity through their hard work and industry & self denial & intelligence. Those (working class)people are bad, bad, bad.

So to mitigate this threat to old Karl & his pampered class, he came up with a political system where society prohibits profits on anything. All now belongs to the proletariat.

But here is the kicker.... the proletariat is really the State of which he & his kind are the masters so all would really belong to them. :laugh:
