Karl Marx, Socialism, and Obama

Now if you pay attention to actual leftists (rather than just a bunch of stupid college students), they detest Obama almost as much as they detest the Republicans since from their perspective he is still an imperialist, capitalist, corporatist President.

And when Bush was president these same leftists (think Ralph Nader types) believed that the mainstream media was a tool of George Bush and was slanted to favor the right wing.

Here is a video of college students in front of the White House cheering for Karl Marx, Socialism, and Obama after his victory Tuesday night.

Warning, some profanity.

We should send kids like this to live in a socialist country like Cuba for a year.
May take a little more than another year but Obama made a lot of progress in the last four. By 2016 he will have achieved his goal of turning the country into a third world Marxist country!

Just goes to show how smart these people are. Nevertheless they are succeeding in their goal.

I personally don't buy how Obama is even remotely a communist or even a socialist considering he was willing to compromise on the health care bill to reject single-payer, has not pushed at all for reimposition of Glass-Steagall, calls for return to Clinton-era tax rates not Scandinavian or French rates, is not pushing for Value-Added Tax, and was perfectly willing to engage in drone warfare-mind you, these are all progressive criticisms of Obama, I'm not even getting to any sort of potential Marxist/Communist critique.

Read this article for example: http://www.counterpunch.org/2012/11/09/by-their-fruits-ye-shall-know-them/
I can assume that you have never heard the term "creeping Socialism".

FDR and his "New deal" gave us Social Security and a bigger Federal government!

LBK and his "Great Society" gave us Mediscare and Medicaid, and a huge Federal bureaucracy!

Obamma has given us an additional $6 trillion in debt, and one more giant step toward Socialized medicine with Obamacare.

Some countries move to Marxism by revolution; others, like northern Europe do it slowly as this country is!

And it is all controlled by the international corporations you all know and love so well!

That is another leftist myth. Actually the richest people in the country are democrats/leftist; Gates, Buffett, Soros

The Stupid PARTY just hasn't understood that yet!

And that is another myth OR. Actually Gates, Buffett and Soros aren't leftists as much as they are Malthusian globalists using a left cover. This is something liberals have failed to grasp. Their socialist ideals were co opted by the fascistic globalists long ago. Conservatives so far have refused to see past the left cover either so they blame everything on the equally duped socialists.

Conservatives have let their hate for the left blind them to reality. The global fascists control the lefties and the righties.

None of this is socialism, its just social liberalism/welfare-statist policies. Many countries that actually did engage in socialist policies such as Britain abandoned it and is now liberalizing their economies.

Just because he does not throw all his cards on the table all at once does not show who he really is. He pushed for what he knew he could get passed. Do not think it is all over.

Then why did President Obama not withdraw immediately from Afghanistan or intervene in Libya-both of which are supported by the leftists (and moreover by a majority of Americans)?

I doubt a majority of Americans were for involvement in Libya. I sure wasn't!

Sorry if it was written badly, but that's what I meant. And the leftists didn't support it either-so therefore if Libyan intervention was a policy opposed by most people and opposed by leftists than what reason would Obama have if he really was a leftist to support it?

Wealth redistribution is the hallmark of Socialism. Obamma admitted to Joe the Plumber in 2008 that he was for wealth distribution.

Romney and Republicans were the ones calling for wealth distribution ... the distribution of wealth from the middle class and poor to the already rich.

Romney, Rove and the GOP not only spent a lot of intelligence but also money in spreading the illusion that the rich need tax cuts else the world as we know it will end. Just taint so.

It seems you have taken in their bait, hook, line and sinker.

Saul Bellow said,
"A great deal of intelligence can be invested in ignorance when the need for illusion is deep. "

Cabby is it impossible for you to be honest. That statement is false and you know it. I would remind you once again that the richest men in the country, Gates, Buffett, and Soros supported obamma. It is totally stupid to say that 50 million Republicans are in favor of taking money out of their pocket and putting it into the pockets of Gates, Buffett, or Soros! Sometimes your ranting is juvenile!

Romney, Rove and the GOP not only spent a lot of intelligence but also money in spreading the illusion that the rich need tax cuts else the world as we know it will end. Just taint so.
That is another lie. Romney made it clear to anyone with smarts sufficient to understand that he would not reduce the amount of tax the rich paid but that he would cut taxes on the middle class. Cabby you are an embarrasment to yourself and to all "true believer" by your continued dishonesty!

Saul Bellow said,

It is obvious you did not read the brilliant piece by your countryman in the Czech Republic so I will repeat it courtesy of mont974x4.

“The danger to America is not Barack Obama, but a citizenry capable of entrusting a man like him with the Presidency. It will be far easier to limit and undo the follies of an Obama presidency than to restore the necessary common sense and good judgment to a depraved electorate willing to have such a man for their president. The problem is much deeper and far more serious than Mr. Obama, who is a mere symptom of what ails America. Blaming the prince of the fools should not blind anyone to the vast confederacy of fools that made him their prince. The Republic can survive a Barack Obama, who is, after all, merely a fool. It is less likely to survive a multitude of fools, such as those who made him their president.”

You surely you are not sufficiently ignorant to believe that 50+ million Republicans are ignorant enough, like you and Crabby apparently are, to take their hard earned money out of their pocket and give it to folks like Gates, Buffett, and Soros.

Yep, leave it to these Socialists and pretty soon you won't have to worry about the rich man, every single person will be poor.

All of this resentment of the rich is nothing but covetousness. Thank God for rich people, it is rich people who give the rest of us jobs. Without rich people everyone would be poor.

Look at Socialist countries, do they ever make life better for the average man? NO, in every country where it has been tried there has been nothing but poverty and oppression.

But despite this clearly being observed, some folks think they can make it work. Some folks just have to learn the hard way.

Actually it is the small businessmen/women who supply the most jobs ... and very few of these good folk are rich as in the type of rich you allude to in your comment.

I believe you are confusing Communism with Socialism. The two are not the same.

Norway
Australia
Holland

are ranked ahead of the US in standard of living.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_countries_by_Human_Development_Index

In a ranking of the highest quality of life the US ranks 9th.

  1. Norway
  2. Australia
  3. Sweden
  4. Netherlands
  5. Germany
  6. Switzerland
  7. Ireland
  8. Canada
  9. USA
  10. South Korea
http://www.mapsofworld.com/world-top-ten/world-top-ten-quality-of-life-map.html

So your premise about Socialism does not hold.

They never make life better, but more importantly than that socialism/communism is contrary to the founding of this country.
