I once heard someone make the argument using Psalm 12:6, citing the part where it says "like gold refined seven times" and that because the KJV is the seventh English translation of the bible (I didn't even bother to look into that) that it is the true translation. This was one of the most absurd. Actually, the passage mentions silver, not gold. david was COMPARING God's words to 7-times-refined silver, the purest thing on earth he knew of
Kent Hovind (a disgraced creationist advocate) is also KJVO and said that all the non TR manuscripts were found in Egypt, and due to them being in "good" condition that meant that people didn't use them because they weren't any good. He also claimed that they were gnostic corruptions, therefore why they hadn't been used.
In his infinite wisdom, Hovind didn't bother to find out WHAT MSS the TR itself is made from. Nor does he know which of the over 30 TR revisions is "the" one.
