“In February 2017, the prime minister of Iceland threatened a ban on pineapple pizza. Over a year later, he had finally apologized for the threat, stating that he "went too far". More importantly, he followed with "I do not have the power to make laws which forbid people to put pineapples on their pizza. I am glad that I do not hold such power. Presidents should not have unlimited power." This is absolutely true, but something that most people do not consider when they passionately take a position on one side of a polarized political argument and are willing to use the force of government against anyone who disagrees with them.”
