I like using the Bible for Bible study. Just a preference. Our church uses books all the time for our adult study groups. Why do you not like using books?

Maybe because you keep posting your "conversations" on a public board and asking for people to agree with you and becoming offended when they don't?
Just a theory.
It is an open forum. Everyone is free to participate. And one more thing why do you keep butting into my conversations?

You have lots of ideas Rsr but keep trying.
I didn't see the part that got edited; doesn't matter. You're right, that was what he said. My apologies.Reread his post [insult edited] that's exactly what he said.
An open public forum is not "yours." If you don't want people "butting in," then use private messages. And one more thing why do you keep butting into my conversations?
Many have criticized my writing of letters to false churches. Well then let's have you write one. I will also include some tracts but the letter is what will get read and the tracts may be tossed without ever being read so it's important to write a winning letter.
Yes, Evan, “just” the Bible. Just the Word of God. There are some who hold the Bible in such a high regard that they would prefer to use it for corporate study rather than commentaries and books. Commentaries have their place, of course, but they are designed to be commentaries (not supplements to but commentaries on Scripture). No commentaries? Study books? Study bibles? Just the Bible without any aide on interpretation?
Don't be so technical! You know when I mean CD I can also mean Internet, radio, or podcast!

I've noticed the same thing. I would prefer such materials be something to take home and supplement personal study and devotion (if necessary) and the group come together to study Scripture and not the supplements themselves.Actually, one of my pet peeves is in SS - the teacher and student will put their Bibles under the Chair and solely use the SS quarterly!
Now, I enjoy using the quarterlys - but they are ONLY a supplement.
and now back to the OP
Isn't the Holy Spirit our aid interpretation?
I have written letters on a couple of occasions, to popular talk show hosts. I have also written open letters I have posted on a forum, more for the benefit of members of the forum, rather than thinking those addressed will actually respond (they won't, you know, lol).
I might suggest to the OP, that when you write a letter, perhaps post it on the forum for critique, as this might help you in these endeavors. That is one thing we should accomplish when we gather, that we learn from one another, and look to our brothers and sisters to point out faults that we are made better in evangelical efforts, rather than simply trying to tear each other down all the time.
God bless.
