I was at a prayer breakfast with Billy Graham - in Atlanta (1987) He told us when he did a revival many years previously -, (probably 1950) after the revival ended- the Atlanta newspaper had a political cartoon - showing Billy leaving Atlanta with bags of money. Graham said that is when he got with the board and requested he be put on a salary.
NOT too many who teach prosperity and wealth would do that!

The easiest way to understand why the Prosperity Gospel is false is to understand that it is openly an appeal to Greed. Without Greed the theology cannot work. The Bible states openly that Greed is sin.

It is also interesting to look at how its evolved, if you look at some of the early Jimmy Swaggart sermons for example, the Prosperity stuff is there but alot more muted, over the years it has become more and more obvious until we get to the Prosperity preachers of today who often can make a wealthy lifestyle out of preaching sermons, including selling copies of the said sermons with the promise that people will be blessed by God if they get the CD pack and so forth.

The best thing to do if your church gets caught up in it is to simply get up and walk out, By all means meet with the leadership, but do not sit there and do nothing, because it will take over and it will result in families getting burnt and leaving the fellowship,
