I hope Trump can get some level of freedom for Christians in North Korea.
At the present time it is the No.1 worst country in the world to be a Christian, and that's saying something!
You are correct. Un is a psycho nut, This could be a show. But even if he goes back on his word and it turns out Trump was played just like the last two presidents, Trump still got those folks released. I’ll take it.The trouble with being a dictator, particularly a nasty one, is that any efforts toward freedom can be seen as weakness by those below. Although Kim Jung Un is playing nice at the moment, he has had numerous family members, underlings, musicians and other undesirable people killed in brutal ways -- many executed by means of an anti-aircraft gun. If you give their families too much freedom, they may come after you. Then there's the whole "revolution of rising expectations" phenomenon to make things more difficult for Kim, even if he is truly wanting to change.
I suspect he needs something very badly and I'm hoping the Trump Administration can figure out what that is (if they haven't already) and bring stability and freedom to the Korean peninsula. If he can pull it off, it will likely be the crowning achievement of his administration and one of the great turning points of this century.
There's always a risk of being played. That is not a failure unless the President and his team do something colossally stupid. I don't think that they will. But even if he goes back on his word and it turns out Trump was played just like the last two presidents...
Absolutely. That's a clear win, no matter what happens next....Trump still got those folks released. I’ll take it.
