Yep. but that was received AFTER being saved, it seems some want sinners to have that BEFORE able to get saved!
You need to ask for clarification before making absurd statements.

IF one requires sinners to be able to fully repent and come to jesus, be willing to exchange all their sins for Him, isn't that "absurd?"
Asking them to make themselves clean, before the blood of jesus cleanses them from those sins?
...except MacArthur. Making any up from commitment in exchange for anything is works plain and simple. Both of these are strawmen. No one has suggested that.

what must a sinner do in repenting? repenting to what, towards what?

A life of rebellion against God. Doing that does not mean anyone is perfect or does not have struggles or knows everything to do. But the over all plan is to live for Christ. How you or anyone else came to a saving knowledge of Christ without understanding that is beyond me.
I understand, one thing we can say for sure - it can only be done through Christ and Him alone. We are powerless without Him.
John 15:5 I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.

Repentance is more a mind set other then an overt act. It is a completely different way of looking at yourself and God. Seeing yourself as a totally depraved lost sinner in need of a Savior and having a desire to want to become a believer or follower of Christ Jesus. At this time you will be perfectly willing to make him Lord in your life, (note I did not say you must) When this happens this is the SUPERNATURAL, You don't invite Him in "You can't keep him out".
Jesus said that His burder was light, his yoke not heavy, why do we keep doing like peter said, forcing sinners to accept the Law in full, something even Jews cannot do?
