My doctor never turns paying customers away. Sometimes they stay until 9pm.
We have to be close to hitting herd immunity against Delta variant.
I had a dentist like that. After hours I counted on friends who were doctors....but then I moved.

No, the suggestion that rather than vaccination, the better approach is to let all healthcare workers get covid is, frankly, absurd.

How am I supposed to take you seriously when you make statements like this?

The argument was a reductio ad absurdum. The purpose of this kind of argument is to show how stupid the opponent's position is by taking it to its foolish illogical conclusion. You don't disprove this kind of argument by playing dumb, taking the statement literally, as though you didn't know he was mocking your position. In fact, it rather makes him look right.

His statement looks absurd, because your position is absurd, and your reaction to his statement looks even more absurd. I'm getting out of this discussion before it starts to rub off on me.

What in the world are you talking about? On what planet would the logical conclusion of my argument be that we should allow heatlhcare workers to get covid?

Honestly, what passes for "discourse" here is atrocious.

And the point is what, exactly?

Nothing here constitutes an argument against vaccine mandates for health care workers. If enough workers refuse to get vaccinated then, of course, services will be affected. But, and of course the OP remains silent on this, if workers do not get vaccinated, they pose a threat to patients.
If the vaccine is so effective (it's not) then if the patient was vaccinated they shouldn't have to worry about it. This is all about control, not science.

Of course vaccinated workers are a threat! No one is denying this.

But, the unvaccinated worker is the greater threat.
Good point. Although vaccinated people can get covid (most are asymptomatic to mildly symptomatic) studies have shown the vaccinated are 91% less likely to be infected with covid than the unvaccinated.

Studies have also shown vaccinated are more likely to be infected than non vaxed.

If its do effective and so many people have gotten it the they don’t need to worry about the rest of us. It’s about control.

Does not make sense.

The measles vaccine is very effective....but the vaccinated can still get the measles. Same with the pneumonia and flu vaccines.

This is especially true of the elderly. Do their lives not matter?

This part is true. Vaccinated people can get civid, but they do not have to be as concerned as the unvaccinated.

But there are people who cannot be vacvinated (age, medical conditions, religious beliefs). Most of the concern is for these and the elderly who are more likely to suffer bm"breakthrough" cases.

There is still the problem of the unvacvinated varient factories (Africa, India, and Columbia are good examples of what comes out of mostly unvaccinated areas).

Did the hospital that closed the maternity floor close their elective surgery department?

Hospitals are playing games. They keep open the departments that make the most profit, and shut down the ones that make the least profit, and find a way to blame Covid. Before Covid, scapegoats were harder to find.

Anyone that has ever suffered from a chronic health condition that is not profitable to providers knows the games that are played by hospitals and insurance companies.

Falsehood.

In August, the CDC also published studies that showed mRNA vaccine protection against infection may be waning, although the vaccines were still highly effective against hospitalization.

then if the patient was vaccinated they shouldn't have to worry about it. This is all about control, not science.
Falsehood.

The vaccines, while highly effective, are not close to 100% effective.

Based on?
Based on the fact that unvaccinated people are more likely to be transmitters of covid.

From the CDC:

The greatest risk of transmission is among unvaccinated people who are much more likely to get infected, and therefore transmit the virus.

CDC has lost all credibility
