To Afghani Muslims, we are the Great Satan. 100% of the Afghani population is Muslim, which is just another measure of the zero progress the US has made there in nearly 20 years of occupation.

I don't think many American troops are happy to be there. But, there are lots of Americans who are happy for US troops to be there, killing innocent people in "self-defense".

You have no idea what you are talking about. We went in Afghanistan because the Taliban had taken it over and was using it to train terrorists and were harboring those who took part in 911 and were protecting them. It becomes difficult to leave because we do not want to leave a void for terrorists to come back and do it all over again. Not sure why that needs explaining.

Did you call members of this board murderers?

This is spoken like someone unfamiliar with combat operations in theatre right now. Throwing all of the Muslims off bases would make things pretty hard with regards to interpretation, intelligence gathering, etc.

They are not to be trusted. They betray us all the time. You would have us abandon Kabul and leave those people to be killed by the Taliban.

Definition of Taliban in English:
Taliban
/ˈtalɪban/

PROPER NOUN
  • A fundamentalist Muslim movement whose militia took control of much of Afghanistan from early 1995, and in 1996 took Kabul and set up an Islamic state. The Taliban were overthrown by US-led forces and Afghan groups in 2001 following the events of September 11.
Origin
From Persian ṭālibān, plural of ṭālib ‘student, seeker of knowledge’, from Arabic (so named because the movement reputedly began amongst Afghani students exiled in Pakistan).

No, it doesn't. Taliban refers to the former theocratic government of Afganistan and its forces.

Yes. My point is that 100% of the population is Muslim. 100% of the population hates America (but, some of them do hate the Taliban more). The Taliban (which last I heard controls about 20% of the country) has the entire population to recruit from. You can't get rid of the Taliban without wiping out the whole population. The US-backed government controls something over half the country, but it's US-backed. It exists because of US money and strength, not because of natural affinity any Afghani people might have for it. 100% of the population, including the people in the government, hates that it's US-backed. How would you feel about an Iran-backed government in the US (assuming they had the strength to impose themselves)?

We're going on two decades of occupation with zero progress. What's the definition of insanity?

The Taliban didn't attack us on 9/11. Osama bin Laden, a Saudi with mostly other Saudi's did, no Afghani's. They trained in American flight schools. Osama bin Laden did have operations in Afghanistan, but I've never seen evidence he had the blessing of the Taliban.

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, who for months resisted efforts to launch impeach proceedings against President Donald Trump, will announce a formal inquiry on Tuesday, according to two Democratic sources close to her.

Pelosi's change of heart comes as dozens of House Democrats — now more than two-thirds of the caucus — have come out in support of an impeachment inquiry in the wake of reports that Trump may have withheld aid to Ukraine to pressure officials there to investigate the son of political rival Joe Biden.

Pelosi, D-Calif., is expected to announce the development after a meeting of the Democratic caucus she called for 4 p.m. ET on Tuesday.

Sham, as House needs 218 to vote for it, no where near that total, and Senate must force Him out, and no way that happens!

So they are good people, not terrorists? Please!

Hmm, it seems the hysterics have settled down a bit.
Democrats are concerned that an impeachment role call will reveal their vote.

This dilemma has suddenly become very interesting again.

I think the Sheriff of Nottingham is going to be FIRED!
He brought a man to trial but he has no tangible evidence of a crime. In reality - Only hearsay evidence.
