Never trust Bannon over Trump again

Were they? I dunno. But Trump backed Strange, and it appears his instincts were right. Moore got rolled. Didn't mount a good defense. His spox holes were atrocious. He was an all around bad candidate. His interview with Hannity probably sunk him. If he is innocent, I would expect him to file a lawsuit against yearbook lady.

The good news is, it's a short term for Jones. 2 years we'll get it back.
Both Trump-endorsed candidates lost in Alabama.

Had a bad feeling tonight. Trump wanted Luther Strange, and Bannon really pushed for Moore. He was a terrible candidate even apart from the media smear. I wish him luck and hope he sues his false accusers, but the lesson learned is, trust Trump. His political instincts are better than Bannon's or the entire Breitbart staff.

And why would you even give a total anarchist any credibility?

I have been voting since 1974 and I don’t vote, or root for candidates, based on cultural issues.

I have seen/heard some lame excuses for voting preferences, but this is one of the LAMEST!!
So the MURDER of thousands(????), is nothing more than a clutural issue??

Am I correct that when (not if-- when) the killers begin to push for all post-born -- that the baby maker that intended to abort but didn't, can now claim "slippance" (old term for getting a repeat shot in game of marbles) -- and kill, say, up to one year old??????????? Or is this still just a cultural issue??!! That's precisely what these murderers are aiming for, and you are aiding and abetting with this type of philosophy.

I pity you , Ken, if this is your gut response, as a Christian, to such a HELL-HATCHED practice.

“The expression culture war entered the vocabulary of United States politics with the publication of Culture Wars: The Struggle to Define America by James Davison Hunter in 1991. Hunter perceived a dramatic realignment and polarization that had transformed United States politics and culture, including the issues of abortion, federal and state gun laws, global warming, immigration, separation of church and state, privacy, recreational drug use, LGBT, and censorship.”

Trust Trump? Luther strange lost in the first round, so Trump is now a two time loser. Rep. Mo Brooks should have been the candidate, but the establishment was backing Luther. Trump followed McConnell's lead and they noth lost big time.

This loss is really a blessing in disguise for the Repubs. Imagine all the machinations that would have gone on had Moore won. Now they can concentrate on getting a good candidate for next time.

Are you saying that God does not place leaders in power and remove them?

As you know, you said that it is God's will that Jones won--or are you saying that you did not intend thst meaning? I agree Americans probably deserve corrupt bad government, but I was hoping for something better.

Key exit polling data. Trump ought to be worried.
---

President Donald Trump's approval ratings among Alabama voters is split at 48-48 percent. Broken down further, the exit polling shows that 41 percent of the state's voters "strongly disapprove" of Trump's job performance while 32 percent "strongly approve," 16 percent "somewhat approve" and another 7 percent "somewhat disapprove."

Trump defeated Democrat Hillary Clinton 13 months ago in Alabama by a 28.3 percent differential, which was the largest margin of victory in a presidential election in the state since 1972.

NBC exit polling: Split views on Moore allegations, Trump approval under 50 percent

I also said that God is sovereign and I think you understand the theological significance of that statement.

When you count winners and losers yesterday, Ken, it is a big win for the Democrats. Also, winners are the US Chamber of Commerce, etc, no?

I don't know about the Chamber of Commerce, but as Republican Senator Jeff Flake tweeted last night, "Decency wins".

I expect the civil war in the GOP between the mainstream conservatives and the Trump/Bannon wing of the party to escalate further in the Republican primaries in 2018.
