when you actually have to spend some time preparing sermons get back to me. At this point you don’t really understand what it is you are criticizing

Please define "spiritual headship." What does it involve? I've heard it invoked for everything from women wearing hats, makeup, and pants, to complete subordination (a completely compliant servant).

    What activities require "spiritual headship"?

Must a prophet have "spiritual headship"? What about a pastor? An evangelist? A deacon? A teacher?

yes I do. Using a sermon outline or reading some books or commentaries for ideas is one thing. Using someone else’s work word for word is wrong for a preacher of the word.

And making fun of me because I’m not a pastor like you is not very Christ like. I have only an eight grade education so maybe I am stupid as you suggest but if I was a pastor I would not use almost, word for word, someone’s ENTIRE sermon as Litton.

How arrogant some on this board are towards laypeople.

You are kind of moving all over the place. I don't think anyone on here agrees that near word for word usage is ok. Earlier on, you seemed to be totally against any usage of topic, outline, etc.

Where do you draw the line? I am going to flat tell you, no one is preaching a doctrinally sound sermon that has not been preached before. Without new revelation, it won't happen. I guarantee you that your pastors material is to a large extent borrowed, whether he really knows it or not.

umm…. I in no way made fun of you. Not sure how you got there. You’ve made some pretty strong statements. If you are going to do that be sure to buck up when there is push back.

All I know about the SBC president is that he might be a Calvinist. I hope this doesn't cause fractures in the SBC.

Any Calvinist that "might be a Calvinist" is too wishey washy to make it an issue.

The head of the Church is Christ, and men are head of his local assemblies!

No, you have simply made an assertion.

    Please answer the questions:

Please define "spiritual headship." In practice, it seems to have something to do with protecting fragile male egos, but it needs to have a biblical basis instead of being based on the fragile feelings of men.

What does it involve? I've heard it invoked for everything from women wearing hats, makeup, and pants, to complete subordination (a completely compliant servant).

    What activities require "spiritual headship"?

Must a prophet have "spiritual headship"? What about a pastor? An evangelist? A deacon? A teacher?

Would a pastor's wife teaching a very large mixed-gender Sunday School class that is also broadcast on the radio to a potential listening audience of more than six million violate "spiritual headship"?

Would a female senior pastor who submits to her husband (and whose husband submits to her -- Ephesians 5:21) violate "spiritual headship"?

You are still not answering the questions, and now you’ve added a new term — “authority.” What does authority mean to you?

The Lord stated to us that males will be the spiritual leaders over His house of God, both in local churches and in the home!

When did the Lord state this to you? Was it with an audible voice?

Perhaps you should cite scripture for your views since I am not a Baptist Pope like you. My opinions yield to scripture, not your pronouncements.

    Probably.

How do you define an "elder?" Would someone who is a deacon quality? What about an evangelist? What about a prophet?

How do you define a "pastor?"

I have to ask these questions because you are all over the place, possibly intentionally. I suspect you won't give a straight answer or cite scripture because you know that locks you into a position that allows me to give a response. Otherwise you can simply rant and make pronouncements that make you feel powerful.

You might think you know, but you don't.
