New Years Resolutions

So let me help you here brother.

Jesus says that the way you criticize others is how you will be criticized as well.

By you suggesting what others should do for a new years resolution, you've literally invited others to tell you what yours should be.

Do you understand that?

So what are yours? Perhaps a good one for many on this board is to spend more time out witnessing.
I would confess my sin of not loving nor obeying God, confess my sins against her to God and to my wife, apologize for abandoning her and my family, and humble myself before God, my wife, my family, repent of an unscriptural divorce and do everything necessary to win my wife back by loving her the way God expects me to.

Oh. Wait. That's not me. I am still married to the same woman for 41 years.

I must have been thinking about someone else.:rolleyes::rolleyes:

Wow! Oh, wow! That couldn't be more to the point, judgemental, self-righteous and self serving. Frankly, I am embarassed for you! T6o think you'd sink that low to broadcast another members sin, and lay out what you would see as a way to fix that sin.

I think God forgives all sin. Large, small and in between. I don't see where divorce is the UNFORGIVABLE sin; so maybe while, whomever your sarcastic words of judgment were meant for, is repenting with ash and sack clothe over their failed, divorced body, you can fall on your face and repent for such harsh words? Words not intended for convicting, but rather to point a finger of humiliation in the direction of that brother????

I've been under conviction about the amount of time I spend on this forum compared to the amount of time I get to spend with my family. Time is a limited resource and we need to be mindful of how we spend our hours. I believe that we are accountable not only for what we do but for what we neglect. So with that in mind, I need to stop wasting time enjoying my family and start spending more time exercising my God given gifts of discernment and wisdom by correcting the errors of others on this forum.

Look brother, I realize you may be seminary educated, and hold a few upper level degrees ... but what does the price of tea in Taiwan have to do with my comments to you and you learned retort?!?!? In other words ... Huh?

Have a wonderful Christmas brother. May all your prayers come to pass, with unconditional favor flowing throughout the new year.

Unfortunately, the OP has been very clear to show that he is NOT repentant over his divorce and he blames his wife when he was the one who filed for the divorce and admits it was not for biblical reasons. He excuses his choice away and then goes out preaching to people that they must repent because they break the 10 commandments when he himself has broken this one blatantly. And then he comes here and accuses people here of not witnessing enough when he himself didn't obey Christ's teaching to love his wife as Christ loved the church. I think TC's post was spot on although it seemed harsh. Remember Jesus told us to not judge lest we be judged with the same measure - and that instead we are to take the log out of our own eye first. I think that might be something the OP might want to consider when posting.

Pay no attention to him. Most of his posts are an attack on me.

I'm sorry Evan. Last I knew, you were blaming your wife for causing to have you divorce her and you were making every excuse to make it not your fault. So you have come to realize that you should not have filed for divorce but have you repented of that sin? Have you stopped looking at other women to date and repented of that as well?
