sadly I've seen it too. Frankly, I'm tired of it around here. We are (called to be) better than this.

I've said it before but I'm on several other boards (mostly closed due since they are professional boards) and I've never seen the treatment one side gets from the other like around here. Actually I've never seen it be just two sides. Its crazy, I don't get it.

The aforementioned behavior is just reprehensible.

Come on, MP and OldReg trade insults all the time. They both dish it out and both can take it. Let them be.

When did any Democrat say 'You lie' to Bush when he spoke to a joint session of Congress on national TV?

Gee, you Republicans are good at saying "You lie," but short on proof.

You said democrats showed Bush more respect and that is a lie.

One point that seems to have been overlooked by the ideologically blind liberal Obamanuts here at BB is that Wilson was right.

Obama was lying.

And that is the real reason for the hypocritical outrage of democrats.

Classic case of when you don't like the message - attack the messenger.

YES JDF. This topic is about bashing President Bush and the Republicans. If you can't, in good conscience, BASH President Bush and the Republicans then you will just have to play "HUSH YORE MOUTH BOY".:laugh::laugh::laugh: Anyhoo you don't want to confuse MP. The lack of oxygen in "Mile High" has done enough damage.

HEH! I got me a real John Deere!
I ain't the guy who brought up the shrub.

I have no idea what you are talking about. Can you stick to the topic?

How is it on topic when you say it, but not off topic when I respond to you saying it?

You say you have no idea what I'm talking about, but I believe it's pretty obvious. You said:

A Presidential speech to a joint session of Congress is not the proper venue for incivility.

I simply asked you, if a Presidential speech to a joint session of Congress is not the proper venue for incivility, why you're not willing to be consistent and condemn the Democrats for their incivility to President Bush during the 2005 State of the Union speech.

His little ploy to avoid the question when you have him cornered. He does it quite often.

That's actually part of my problem. You see, I'm not a Republican (no, not a Democrat, either) and I'm not a fan of Bush. I think he did some really good things early on and then, after he was re-elected and realized he had nothing to lose, went way off track and did some really bad things. Although I started out as a Bush defender, I spent the last three years of his administration being a very consistent and vocal critic of such things as his lack of attention to the border, his betrayal of Compion and Ramos, his unwillingness to be agressive in Iraq, his runaway spending, etc.

I believe that I was fair with Bush, standing by him when he was right, but calling him to account when he was wrong, and I am more than willing to show the same fairness to Obama.

To me, this isn't about Bush vs. Obama. vs. McCain. vs. Democrats vs. Republicans vs. whoever. Obama and Bush are just two sides of the same coin and, as for McCain, I agree with Glenn Beck when he said that the only difference between Obama and McCain is that Obama wants to take the country to Hell in a rocketship and McCain wants to take the country to Hell in a horse and buggy.

Yes, I used to be a Republican but then, around 2005, I realized that all the Republicans were good for was trying to out-Democrat the Democrats. They've totally abandoned their principles and I have no problem saying so. What's more, I see more and more Republicans and former Republicans who are saying so.

If I can apply a line from Larry Cordle and Lonesome Standard Time to the Republicans, "they'd probably tell the Gipper to pack up and go back home/since the committed murder down on Capital Hill".

Now, I'm probably best described as an independant free market Conservative Constitutionalist (...religious right gun nut...) so I bristle whenever small minded people like Magnetic Poles and his clone, who's name escapes me at the moment, try to make this an Obama vs Bush or Republicans vs. Democrat issue.

I NEVER mind honest criticism of my side or my candidate. All I ask for is that they be consistent and hold their side and their candidate to the same standard.

HEH! I got me a real John Deere!

Me, too. Two John Deeres and a Farmall.
