You can levy attacks all you wish. The fact is you have never read the Qur'an.

Had you held respect for that interpreter you allege served you, you would have not been afraid to learn what compels the enemy.

Your arrogance is astounding but it is overcome by your proud ignorance.
And you know nothing of what I know of Muslims or Islam.
You think you know Islam because you killed Muslims on orders?

How sad for you.

Let's get something straight right now. For starters, I have read the Quran in it's entirety. Secondly, I have never killed anybody and I can't believe you would be as disgusting and presumptuous as to try to use that as a tactic to get the upperhand in an internet argument. I thought I was going to like you but that has changed drastically. You had no right at any point to imply something as personal as that to me and I sincerely pray that you never do that to a veteran again.

Catmommy, I can honestly say that you have no business voicing an opinion on this topic. You have no clue what you are taking about, as evidenced by pretty much every post of yours in this thread.

Let me tell you where I'm coming from. Two combat tours, one in Iraq and one in Afghanistan. I'm route clearance, looking for IEDs. Working closely with Muslim interpreters.

I'd sit and have tea with them 2-3 times a week. There were between 9-12 of them working for my company at any given time, with 1 assigned to my platoon.

I've read the Qur'an. Twice.

Oh, and I've worked in an MI unit. I wasn't required to read "The Art of War".

So, based on my expertise and experience, I have to bluntly say, "You're wrong." And dismiss anything further you have to say.

Yea I'd say that ends the argument.

UofT did not answer either way. How do you know that he never read it?
Well see, I asked a direct question. That he didn't answer was an answer.
All else is blustering after the fact. I'm a member of a number of Christian forums, and save for Christian forums, which is a pit owned by an atheist that exploits the faith for his own personal gain, I've not run across a gaggle of males so full of hate and loathing while attaching "Baptist" to themselves in the process in a long while.

Anyone who's read the Qur'an twice knows it isn't referred to as the Koran. Further, they know something about Islam and Muslims. Which has yet to be in evidence in this thread.

Oh, and someone who was in the field of battle either killed or contributed to the killing of an enemy due to their presence there.

:)

Hate and loathing? You know you just called me a killer in your last post to me right? I can't think of anything said in this thread that is more hateful than that. Spare me your holier than thou attitude. When your back was against the wall you showed your true colors.

That you jump to a wrong conclusion (He later answered you) then try to justify it speaks volumes. That chip on your shoulder is showing.

This is insulting, and I am sure that you meant it to be.

Were I to guess, all is not as it appears in CatMommy-Land.

In her world, simply reading the Qur'an makes her more of an authority on Muslims than those that have read the Qur'an and lived amongst them for extended periods of time. It's like she is trying to convince me and Woody that our eyes have deceived us and that our life experiences are easily dismissed.

I don't believe killing the enemy while wearing a uniform in the service of your country makes one a "killer".

A generation of this nation's warriors were labeled as baby killers, rapists, arsonists and worse for fighting for our country.

It wasn't true then. It's not true now.

I've never agreed with you more than I do right now. That being said, I've never killed anyone while in uniform either. For her to even broach that extremely sensitive subject with a veteran, especially when no one was even bringing it up is beyond inappropriate.

1. Did she even state that she has read it?

2. I will accept practical experience over theoretical knowledge.

Every once in a while, a new person comes in and tries to tell everyone else how bad they look.

They usually don't last long.

No. I actually envy your level-headedness. Thanx for your service, as well, but I'm sure I already did that.

Those who usually make such accusations rarely know what it is to serve. Frankly, I think that they talk out their butts.

I haven't agreed with much you have had to say in this thread, but that's just simple disagreement, something we do here routinely.

What you said above is a low blow.

Our people in uniform defend this country and follow orders while doing it. I don't believe an order has ever been given to "kill muslims". If our enemies happen to be muslim, so be it. Bur nobody is killing "muslims on orders".

You are new here. My opinion of you and your posts just dropped several notches. If you did not mean it like it sounded, an explanation is in order.
