Nobel Peace Prize?!?!

Well this just gives more fodder to my belief that there are power(s) behind the "0" that us commoners will never know, both political and shekels. Powers that have far, far more influence (read POWER) than the POTUS can even dream of.
Course we know the ULTIMATE power, but there are some in clay bodies also!!
I used to read of the anti-christ and wonder how one man could mesmerize the world into accepting him as their "cherished leader", but after seeing the homage afforded the (0) by supposedly intelligent Americans, I am no longer amazed!!!!!!

The Nobel Committee has really become a point of political force than a recognition of true peace efforts. There were plenty of other qualified Candidates.
At some point we need to see this committee reach out to actual leaders. I'm befuddled by this decision.

How did he manage to win that?He hasn't been in office for a full year yet.
Being in office has nothing to do with winning or being nominated. Many winners were not office holders. On the Nightly News Report one person interviewed said he was being looked at last year after his speech in Berlin. The award is not based on results else many winners would never have won. It seems to be based more on the driving philosophy behind the person. There are winners who had accomplished much, i.e. Nelson Mandela for instance.

Obama did not win the prize. This was just a way for the Marxists in Europe to insult the United States.
Yep, but I wasn't following politics quite as closely then!
AND back then, I truly thought there was a BIG, BIG difference in the Ds & Rs.
I've since realized that, while there is a difference, it's mostly operating procedures, rather than goals!!!!!!:tear:
Oh, and the Rs are far calmer and less repugnant in their quest than Ds.
Probally to win the election. As a conservative, Regan needed a moderate.

There is no easy answer to this question. The most likely explanation is rooted in Mr. Obama's commitment to globalization and the United Nations. He believes very strongly that the UN is the key to global order, and has acted to bring the United States in line with UN doctrine. Sadly, that doctrine calls for substantial weakening in national sovereignty. It requires the acceptance of rules put in place not by our own elected representatives, but by unelected representatives of foreign powers--many of which are inherently corrupt.

Obama was nominated 10 days after taking office. That tells me everything I need to know.
It tells us very little.
We do not how long he was considered before being nominated.
We do not know if he would have been nominated even if not elected.
I do not know who nominated him.
About all we know is that he was nominated and won and the reasons he was as stated in the announcement. We really do not know very much about how this happened. We can guess, but we really do not know.
That's because there's little to say. This was (is) a bogus, undeserved award that was not earned in any way. It smacks of politics, and a promotion of a political point...not "peace." If Alfred Nobel were alive, he'd use his most famous invention to blow up the doggone medal.
It wouldn't surprise me if he nominated himself. With his ego, that is possible. But, with all the global butt-kissing that goes on with Obama, no doubt the list of nominators could be long. But again...just because someone makes a stupid nomination doesn't mean you have to give them the award.
I will say this: If he was nominated, and did not win...things would get bad for the Nobel folks. Professional victims would swoop down on the Norwegians and "racism" them to death. They'd have to give out four awards next year: Barack, Jeremiah, Al, and Jesse.
Feb. 1 was the deadline. He had been in office nine days. And since he did nothing to deserve the award, "how long he was considered" is immaterial.
Now that is an interesting scenario.
Of course we know. This bogus award was about slapping Bush in the face. It was about socialist policies...which Obama supports, and that lines up with the Peace prize folks' doctrine. Obama is statist in politics, he's Al Gore-ish in his views of ecology, he has lots of personal charisma, and he's been apologizing on behalf of our country for the better part of a year. Why not give it to him? Heck...why not give it to him every year? Why not rename it the Baracknobelama Peace Prize?

Surely the GOP wouldn't run Palin against Obama. Luckily you have a few years to find a worthy opponent. Palin is too polarized. She has great support from the far right but none from moderates. Unfortunately, there is not enough far rights to elect her.
