Obama Should Have Spoken Sooner About Plane Terror Attack

So, the POTUS goes on national news channels today, December 28, to speak about the Christmas Day attempt (way back on December 25), by a young terrorist, to blow up a plane headed to Detroit.

For those "naysayers" who vehemently spoke out against Bush, for dragging his feet during the events that took place on 9/11, I believe I can safely opine that Obama should have been in front of the television camera's within hours of the Christmas Day incident, Instead, he goes before the cameras, more than 72 hours after the incident.

As the POTUS, it is his duty to calm down the fears of American people traveling by this mode of transportation for the holidays, and he failed this test, royally!

A lot was said that Bush should have left the elementary school immediately upon hearing about the attacks on 9/11. They also "blasted" Bush for flying around the country for hours, and taking too much time to address the nation and "calm down the people of this country."

It looks as though Obama has NOW fallen into the same creek of chest-high-water, but, I'll bet dollars to donuts that NO ONE will criticize Obama for taking more than 72 hours [3 days] to address the nation about this near miss terrorist attack.

A good POTUS would have jumped on this "Breaking News story" about the foiled terror plot. After all, Obama could have taken personal credit for this plot being foiled under his watch and administration. Instead, he flies off to Hawaii for a Christmas visit with family and friends. Than three days later, he comes out of seclusion and addresses the nation. Shame on him, and the advisers who guided him in this nonchalant action.

Maybe the Democrats, who tore Bush apart for stalling around on 9/11, will have to eat some "cooked crow under glass" on New Years Eve, after all, this was a major opportunity for a POTUS "photo op" and the opportunity to jump on top of this incident instead of letting it go by way of the old "water-under-the-bridge" adage?

Better luck next time Barrack, but, in your defense, I know you were on a "much needed and well deserved vacation!"

And if he did, I'm sure people would be complaining that he spoke too soon. Out of all the reasons to be critical of Obama, this is way down on the list.

I speak with some authority on the issue. I'm flying to DC in January on business.

He is the "undecider", but he also had to have time to reel in the idiot he has running Homeland Security and give her a chance to run backwards.

He said so little of consequence that it didn't really matter how long he waited. His actions speake much louder.

Invoking citizenship rights on this terrorist and allowing him to lawyer up tells the real story and, long term, will say much more than Obama's forked tongue.

Well, being a man of faith, and seeing as how I fly on business frequently, I figure the Lord has already affixed the date and time of my death, so I'm not particularly concerned.

==I don't think the attempted attack on Dec. 25 comes anywhere close to 9/11 (thankfully!). So I will not be critical of Obama on this point. Nor did I think Bush should have jumped up and left the classroom that morning. He did the right thing. Obama is on vacation. I don't think we should expect him to jump in front of cameras everytime something comes close to happening. The attack was stopped, thankfully nobody was seriously injured or killed. Let's be greatful (thankful) for that blessing and move on. As conservatives, more importantly as Christians, we should not seek to copy the sinful/disrespectful behavior of the Democrats over the past eight years. We should not be seeking out reasons to be critical of Obama. Instead, we should be critical of him when necessary and supportive of him when, on the very rare occasion, we have a chance to be.

I would rather he not speak at all, then give the lame, half-hearted speech he did give.

Here's My View, on YOUR View...

Well, being a man of faith, and seeing as how I fly on business frequently, I figure the Lord has already affixed the date and time of my death, so I'm not particularly concerned.

I too believe that the Lord has already fixed a date and time for my death; HOWEVER, there is the consequence of fate which means while it may not be your affixed date and time, it may be the affixed date and time of one person on the same plane with you and a few hundred others: thus, all of you are included in this persons trip from this life to eternity and judgment.:wavey:

For this reason I don't fly. It is NOT my intent to be included within the unlucky group who get caught up and die along with the one person on the plane whose date and time is up. It is the kind of gathering party that I can truly do without, if you know what I mean!

The Plot was Foiled by the Wrong Underwear

I heard on CNN as well as FOX, that the Obama administration is already blaming the past policies of Bush for the shafu that allowed this terrorist on the plane.

Secondly, it was fate that seperated this attack from killing nearly 300 people. The guy should of worn Hanes, not Fruit of the Loom underwear brand:laugh:

Hanes are hot right now, and would have surely went up in a quick deadly flame. It's good for us that the radicals preferred Fruit of the Loom. I guess that brand sounds like something from a Muslim vineyard:laugh:

The truth is, we've had to terror attacks on American soil in less than 60 days. The first was at Fort Hood, and now the Detroit attack. It looks like Obama's inexperience is catching up with him. And the truth is He should have spoke on Christmas Day; not 3 days later. His 3 day wiat shows his lack of interest in terror events.

This is his common tactic. He wants to downplay these things. More liberal incoherence.

Yep, if he had spoken sooner the same people would be criticizing him for grand standing, or looking for a photo opt. With some he can't win no matter what.

After all he's shown so far, yer dern tootin he can't win; at least AFAIC.

IF and when he gets several things right consecutively, I may begin to soften my attitude toward him.

But based on past performance, he's batting below "0" in my book!

Am I the only one who thought it was funny that Oba-mao said "and we will not rest until...", while he was in Hawaii on vacation?

OK. Why don't you help us out and tell us what he's done so far that we should applaud him for?
