I know I'M not a young woman and when I am sick like this - my body definitely agrees with me...

When I fall in the Lazy boy, I sleep like a baby. It's the getting up part that I know I'm getting older.

I will be sleeping in the recliner until this Bronchitis gets better. I can't breathe laying down.

We'll if I don't start going to bed earlier, I'm going to fall apart! Watched t.v. til almost midnight and got up, again, at 5:30... Ty was fretting in his sleep so I didn't go back to bed. He came in hollering, Miss Diane, why don't you turn on your kwiss miss lights? I left them off so it wouldn't wake him!

Wow, it is raining to beat the band here! We've gotten over one inch so far, and it just keeps coming. Supposed to do this all day today and part of the day tomorrow. The yard in front of the apt is covered with standing water (thank God we're on a hill part so the water doesn't come in our front door like it is the neighbors across in the next building...and they just moved in two days ago!) and the river is really up. I just wonder if the creek down by the house we are buying is so overflowing. I can't go out there until tomorrow or tonight after going to the doctor. PRAYERS PLEASE...we were just put under a flood warning.

Wow, Tony, sure will! Be sure to buy flood insurance when you close on the house!

They say we're not in the 200 year flood plain, but I know that the road was pretty flooded when we drove out there the other day. The creek was way up in the fields and was over the road on the bridge. It's 1/2 mile away from the house, but I think I will buy flood insurance anyhow. The field that sits right behind our house is too low to perk, but it collects water and has significant ponding. So, I think it would be a good idea.

I called out there and they said no flooding at our house. There was flooding here at the apt complex though. But, it wasn't our apt....Thank the Lord!

Well, that's good news Tony. We are in a flood zone because we live near the marsh. I've never seen it flood here, though I'm sure its possible.

I know when we lived in Augusta, we got 12" of rain in about 3 hours. That was somewhere between 1986 and 1989. We had landslides which took out a railroad track on Washington Rd in front of the Club Car plant, and it was some of the worst flooding in Augusta's history. We lived in a trailer park then in Evans, GA, and the road we lived on was a steep dip and then back up into the park. We were stranded for several days with no electricity. Had to cook on a camp stove, and had just enough eggs, butter and flour to keep us for those days.

I was stationed at Ft. Gordon from about Nov. 72 til Mar. 73 and thought the weather in that area was mostly pleasant except for a freak snow storm which I believe happened in Feb. of 73. I think it was about 12 inches, which was a record at that time. I really disliked Ft. Gordon but liked the Augusta area.

I thought Ft. Gordon was better than some Army bases. Columbus was seedy in the 70's. Aberdeen Proving Ground was probably our favorite 'station'. We had a lovely little home there off post.

Roy, I remember it snowing in Mobile in about 1957. We scooped it up and poured Orange Crush over it.

Diane: The Army had some major drug problems in the early 70s, and Ft. Gordon was a major stink-hole. A friend of mine, while on guard duty, shot and killed a drug-addicted GI who had come onto his post and shot him first. The guy was looking for something to steal to buy drugs with.

As for snow in Mobile, any time that happens, it will be remembered, because it will be years before it happens again. We had snow, I think, in 1992 or 93. It was freaky but enjoyable.

We lived in Aberdeen Proving Ground for awhile in 1962, then we were transferred to Fort Leavenworth (NOT the prison portion!).

We were there in 1970-71, Sue. Our Scott was born there on the Army base. We rented a precious little house on Church Green.

Well my hard drive started SCREAMING late last night so I'll not be every active for a few days. Jim has a Hard Drive to install when he gets home for me but that'll be late Friday night or Saturday morning. We have 3 computers but he has the laptop with him and this one is downstairs in the rec room. I have to check my mail on the internet so any alerts will not be seen immediately.

My computer at home is becoming more and more unreliable. I've replaced the hard drive 2x. My computer at work is extremely fast, but have been so busy lately, I haven't had time to be dishonest.

My HP is 3 years old I think, but it's on at least 18 hours a day, 365 days a year. I'm sure it's the hard drive. I'm hoping, if I don't turn it on again... that Jim can put in the new one and trasfer the files before it's fully gone. I scanned for viruses while at church last night so it should be okay.

The keyboard on THIS computer is very stiff. Both computers have certain command keys in different places. It's hard to change! I'm just thankful to have another one so I can check in once in a while.

Yes you have. You just haven't taken the opportunity.

YOU'D BETTER SHAPE UP, GIB. The 'net is calling, the BB has hundreds of threads you have NOT commented on. They need you.

Rule: Estimate how long a task at work will take. (say 1 hour for example). Then, if you finish in 45 minutes, you have 15 minutes of BONUS TIME. You can go to the break room, have a Dr Pepper . . OR . . you can go on line to the BB.

Where did I come up with such an idea? Took my car into the shop. They charged me for fixing the bumper. According to their manual, it takes 1.25 hours labor. Now I SAW the dude only work on it for half that time, but I was charged for the full 1.25 hours labor. It's policy.

See? You need to inflate those hours for work and get busy on the BB.
