Welcome to Baptist Board, a friendly forum to discuss the Baptist Faith in a friendly surrounding.
Your voice is missing! You will need to register to get access to all the features that our community has to offer.
We hope to see you as a part of our community soon and God Bless!
This is where you are missing the entire point. Being a Democrat or Republican has nothing to do with being a Christian, and no one said it did. The center of our lives is Jesus Christ. Now, the country we live in has nothing to do with that. You are very lucky you live in a country that allows you to worship as you please, but your loyalty to this nation is seperate and apart from your salvation. In our nation, we have the right, as Christians, to effect change in the government. This does NOT mean you are showing alligience to the USA over Jesus Christ. You owe loyalty to your country whether you are saved or not.\I wonder the same thing when I hear statements like "If you're a Democrat you can't be a Christian." Have you ever said that?

You keep bringing up Democrats and Republicans, or Democrats vs Republicans. This is where perspective on history comes in. If you understood how far away these two parties have taken us away from our core values, when we were founded, then you would understand that the two present parties are nothing but legalized thieves that are interested in nothing but self indulgence and power, when they should be interested in serving the American people. Both parties are a stench to the Lord, and he will hold this nation accountable regardless of what you think about keeping faith and civil duties seperate.
What I have found is that people who like to degrade our founders by citing examples of their flaws (they were fallen just like us), or talk about the unBiblical qualities of the Declaration of Independence and Consitution, are people who never lifted one finger to serve this nation. They do not have a clue as to what the real price of freedom is. Their idea of their part for patriotism is going to a fireworks display or flying a flag on their car.
Both of the posts you cited are in harmony. Here you seem to be missing the point. In a later post we seem to agree.
You weren't replying to me - you were replying to Harold Garvey. What's really sad is that you are blatant rule breaker and quite pathetic to keep coming back here after being banned twice. It will be a matter of days and I'm sure the mods will ban you again. What's the over/under on how many more times you will pathetically come back and break the rules again - 3, 4, 10? There a gazillion forums and boards on the internet - why don't you go somewhere else to share your brilliant ideas? So, I give you a Biblical reply that you can't respond to and this is your way out? Sad.
Not that I am a networking expert, but I thought they had a list of banned IP addresses. You weren't replying to me - you were replying to Harold Garvey. I'm sure they do, which is why he'll be banned within a few days. He came back as "Freedom" and was banned. Now he is back as "alatide." After I read a few of his posts, his m.o. and posting habits made it clear who it was.Not that I am a networking expert, but I thought they had a list of banned IP addresses.
I think that is the same case in many religious organizations too. But they never got there without the participation of its members either by support or apathy.saturneptune said:If you understood how far away these two parties have taken us away from our core values, when we were founded, then you would understand that the two present parties are nothing but legalized thieves that are interested in nothing but self indulgence and power, when they should be interested in serving the American people. Yes I have. One cannot align himself with a party that condones the slaughter of innocents and the legalization of sodomy and call himself a Christian. There isn't a political party outside of the Communists that has been as hostile to the free exercise of true religion other than the Party of Democrats. There's one ass whose mouth I pray God will close.I wonder the same thing when I hear statements like "If you're a Democrat you can't be a Christian." Have you ever said that?

God save the U.S., and the conservative majority on the SCOTUS.
Homosexuality is a sin and abortion is clearly murder. There is no room for debate or opinion there. But, only you would call a pre-emptive war "evil" or the idea of actually not punishing achievement as being wrong when actually it is a matter of your personal opinion.
That is about as logical and accurate as saying one cannot support a party, the Republican Party, that supports a pre-emptive war and the killing of innocent civilians as well as supporting tax cuts for the rich and still be a Christian.
I am not a Republican but I support tax cuts for everyone including the rich, no shame there,
No one has had the purpose of killing innocent civillians so no issue there. What is it about libbies that they cannot make legitimate comparisons?
Murder is not confined to a legal aspect but it is confined to the willful act of taking another life. When people die in war but are not the object of the attack it cannot be considered murder although it is very sad and unfortunate. But since libbies need to soothe their conscience about supporting abortionists they need to fabricate an issue.
Supporting a tax cut for all is one thing, supporting a tax cut for the rich and little or nothing for others is a different matter.
We have not been engaged in Pre-emptive war so that is not an isssue.
Tell that to the 100,000 plus Iraqi civilians that have been killed and who knows how many more than that wounded.
Why is it that people who call themselves conservative cannot see truth even when it does not agree with their pre-conceived ideas?
The "others" do not pay taxes
Since you conveniently forgot I will remind you that in 1990 Iraq tried to take over another sovereign nation who is a NATO ally. When we beat them back they remained under a cease fire. When we went back in we were still under a cease fire. After 12 years of thumbing their nose at sanctions, and UN demands to be open about their capabilities we went revoked the cease fire and went back in. Now you can legitimately argue against the reasons for going back in. But Pre-emptive it was not under any sense of the term.
Go ask the Iraqi's go live under much better conditions if their fellow citizens were murdered. And you offered no evidence of any pre-conceived idea.
